UNION COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
Hi, my name is
Thomas Rickey and I have been an officer with the Union County
Police Department since 1988, when I graduated the John H Stamler Police Academy and began my career as a Patrol Officer. Over the years I have had the
opportunity of being assigned to several different special units, one of which was the County's Narcotic Strike Force, in 2000 and the County's Gang Task Force in 2002. I am also a police instructor at the Union County Police Academy, where I instruct recruits in F.A.T.S., Firearms and Gang Recognition.
In July 2002, I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol Division. Although, I was still very active in identifying gangs and gang members.
In 2003, I was assigned to the County's Gang Task Force and remain
their today as the supervisor of the unit.
I became interested in patch collecting while I was in the police academy. Then I took a break from the hobby for a couple years. I am now
active again. I collect all law enforcement patches, but I am mostly interested in New Jersey Police Departments and Special Unit patches (Narcs, Gangs,etc) from any Police Department.
I restrict my patch trading to LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL ONLY! I apologise to all the civilian collectors out there, but with all the security these days, I
perfer to send my police patch only to other Police Officers.
