The Snap-It name has been changed to CaptureNPrint. For more details click here.

Why use CaptureNPrint and not other screen capturing programs?

  • CaptureNPrint is one of the easiest screen capturing utilities to use. Install, run, and press the print screen key to start capturing and printing. That is all there is to it. To see how easy it is, you just click here or click on ScreenShots from the menu on the left.

  • CaptureNPrint is Freeware/Bannerware (it is not Adware as it does not monitor your web habits). It was an Adware program but I removed it because it was too big and it requires the users to be connected to the internet. With version 4.5 and above, CaptureNPrint contains only reciprocal links to sites that have association with CaptureNPrint like:
    www.tucows.com,
    www.simtel.net,
    www.download.com,
    and other sites.

  • It is packed with features users need like one-click paste any captured image to MS Word or PowerPoint (97 or 2000). This feature is great for creating manuals, help files, presentations, tutorials, technical supports, etc..

  • Email captured images with ease. It works just like the Send To menu option in your Windows Explorer. Right-mouse click on highlighted images and select your mail program from the list and it will automatically attached those images.

  • Image Cataloger - catalogs captured images or images from your hard drive. It supports the following formats: BMP, JPG, PNG, GIF (RLE compression), TIFF (uncompressed), PCX, and TGA. It also records URLs belonging to images that have been captured from the web. With a mouse click, CaptureNPrint can take you back to the web page where you have captured the image. (Version 5 or higher)

  • You can view images in 3 different thumbnail sizes with high quality or low quality display. Our high quality viewer is comparable to product like Adobe PageMaker and other products that have "Resize and Resample."

  • You can also print out captured images or cataloged images in thumbnails.

  • CaptureNPrint is made by an award winning author. It is currently being sold commercially under a different name. This commercial company has licensed CaptureNPrint and had sold it commercially at AOL, COMPUSA, and many other stores. Its biggest customers are the corporations, schools, and US Government. Under the commercial name, this program has won numerous awards: The Win 100 Award from Windows Magazine, PEI's Utility of The Year Award (Photography Magazine), and many others. I cannot tell you the name of this commercial product because of my agreement with this company.

  • CaptureNPrint is available without banners for under $10 while most of the competitors charge you $20 and up. Why do I sell CaptureNPrint so cheap? Because I want my program to be used by as many people as possible. I personally think that some of these software programs are overpriced.

  • CaptureNPrint has 13 different methods of capturing information on your screen:

    • Full Screen - captures your entire screen

    • Active Window - captures the current displayed program window

    • Client Area - captures without borders, caption, and without menu

    • Mouse Selected Region - captures any region that has been created by a program like menus, text area of a word processor, a row of buttons, etc.

    • User Defined Rectangle and Repeat - captures the area you defined with the option to repeat the capture without you have to redraw the area. This feature has been widely used to capture Citrix MetaFrame windows that have printing problem, capture and print stock quotes, etc. (2 modes with and without repeat)

    • User Defined Circle and Repeat - is used to capture circular shapes. It is mostly used for web capturing purposes. (2 modes with and without repeat)

    • Full DOS Screen Mode - captures DOS screens that required 80 by 25 display. This is used to capture DOS program that requires Full DOS Screen Mode and not in a DOS window. It is great for those old DOS programs and DOS games. You can capture DOS text to a text file, DOS text to a picture, or DOS graphics.

    • Zoom Capture - captures those hard-to-read areas on your screen. If you are not sure of what the tiny lines said in certain windows then zoom in on it and capture it.

    • WebScroller - captures web pages that scroll off the bottom of your screen. It will scroll IE 4 or above and Netscape 3 or above. I am working on a version that will scroll any browsers or applications with scrollbars.
