The U.S. Media Circus and the U.S. War For Oil
CONSIDER  THESE  FACTS

AMERICANS CANNOT RELY ON
U.S. MEDIA SOURCES

The theme of this page resounds in the question  "Where Have All the Shepherds Gone?"  Where are they?  Where did they go?  The wolves and the War Hawks are never hard to find.  We see them everywhere ... as always.  But the Shepherd ... where is he?  Has he abandoned the flock ... like the U.S. Media has done?  The U.S. Media was supposed to keep the wolves at bay.  They swore an oath to be vigilant and on-guard ...  to expose the Truth and chase away the charlatans and Hoodlums.  Their allegiance once was to the flock ... but now they serve the wolves and the Swindlers who rape, pillage and plunder the countryside.  The Shepherd has abandoned his flock.

The leading U.S. television stations have turned this lopsided absurdity (The Iraq War Spectacle) into a wind-fall lucrative U.S. Media circus, labeling this War "Operation Iraqi Freedom" (Accepting uncritically and then dispensing as Gospel This This NEWLY Concocted Characterization of a War that is as immensely Indefensible now as it has ever been under its previous, less glorifying stated objective of Hegemony.

No doubt the Bush Regime is immensely grateful to the U.S. agitprop media -- its obedient, subservient Partner in Arms.  The Wise and the Educated correctly understand this cheap "Shock & Awe" carnival sideshow as a new all-time low for The U.S. Media, in a new millennium already plagued with all-time record lows for The U.S. Media (Quick, bring in the popcorn! This is GREAT! They're pounding Baghdad back the Stone Age) ... (U.S. Media declares 2001 Presidential Winner DESPITE THE FACT the vote counts do NOT support the declaration).  This colossal episode of U.S. Media dishonesty, propaganda, sophistry and exploitation is so incredibly sleazy one can't imagine ever being able to get the bitter taste out of one's mouth.

In Reality, this War is a U.S. grab for control of Iraqi oil, and The U.S. Media is its its obedient, subservient propaganda partner.  It is being waged under the guise of deposing a malignant tyrant.  And its feigned successes (and The U.S. Media's sudden inexplicable obsessions with righteousness) are being erroneously attributed to the fact that Saddam is, indeed, a malignant tyrant.  That fact, however, has absolutely nothing to do with the U.S. & British motives and objectives for this War.  These facts are merely being opportunistically misrepresented as a pretext for waging a "War for Oil."

Take a look at this Chevron-Texaco Map of its Middle East Oil Interests.
http://www.geocities.com/blubakhe777/chevron.gif
Note that Iraq and Iran are the only oil-rich countries in the Middle East where Chevron-Texaco has no interests whatsoever (No interest, control, ownership).

HOW OIL INTERESTS PLAY OUT
IN U.S. BOMBING OF AFGHANISTAN

The United States is Resource Poor and the Largest Consumer of Oil. The United States has only 3% of the world's known oil reserves. (4). Imports accounts for 60% of America's daily oil consumption, 13% of that comes from Persian/Arabian Gulf States which produce 18% of the world's supply of oil. With less than 5% of the world's population, the US accounts for over 25% of the world's oil consumption (5).  The United States would like to control Caspian Sea and Central Asian oil in order reduce dependency on oil from the Persian/Arabian Gulf, which it cannot control.  (Click below for Information Source and to read Original Report)
http://www.moles.org/ProjectUnderground/drillbits/6_08/1.html

Note that Iraq is the only oil-rich country in the World in which wealthy U.S. Oil companies have absolutely no interests whatsoever.  And only Shell has any interests in Iran, a very limited interest.  Also worthy of note, is the fact that President Bush appointed a former aide to the American oil company Unocal, Zalmay Khalilzad, as special envoy to Afghanistan. The nomination was announced December 31, nine days after the US-backed interim government of Hamid Karzai took office in Kabul.

Are we to believe that, with the immense resources which the U.S. television Media possesses, NO ONE IN The U.S. Media HAPPENED TO SEIZE UPON ANY OF THESE CONSPICUOUS, TROUBLING FACTS? It certainly goes a long way to explain Bush's Wild West Gun-Slinger Swagger --Click Here--, his ultimatums and his taunts of Saddam, which were cunningly drafted to make sure they were too impudent for Saddam to accept .

Look for these maps to change swiftly and radically, with Mobile, Exxon, Conoco, BP (British Petrolium), Shell Oil, American Oil, and Chevron-Texaco suddenly blanketing the Iraq portion of these maps (Bush's old buddies).  Expect that Iran will either capitulate or it will soon be demonized (Remember this statement -- this prediction was made in January 2003.  It didn't take long for Bush to make it come true.).  Don't expect The U.S. Media to pay any particular attention to these facts.  Do NOT expect The U.S. Media to discern any particular significance from these facts.  The U.S. Media is brain-dead, with conclusive evidence of its flat brain-wave readings becoming grotesquely apparent over the past few years (e.g., the 2000 elections, where it stood by silently during the first Whitehouse coup in U.S. history).

In a recent CBS News interview Ephraim Halevy, Head of Israel's National Security Council, said this Iraq War is much bigger than just the situation in Iraq, and much bigger than most U.S. citizens realize.  He said he believes this War is calculated to send a loud alarm to the entire Middle East.  Halevy said when this Iraq War is over there will be a radical shift in Iran's government in order to align itself more with U.S. interests in the region.  Halevy supports the Iraq War.  Bush and Powell are lobbying to get a "pro-U.S." leader in Iraq after the War.  Observers say if Bush conservatives have their way, "...we can expect someone like Ahmed Chalabi to be installed by the U.S. military to unite the country's various factions.  Chalabi is the head of the exiled Iraqi National Congress and a close associate of some high powered U.S. officials, including, Richard Perle (chair of the Pentagon's Defence Policy Board), U.S. Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld, and U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney." (Dr. W. Andy Knight, University of Alberta, Canada).  Halevy told CBS News he personally believed that the Iraq War signals the beginning of World War III.

Do not expect the U. S. Media to connect the dots.  Do not expect the U. S. Media to wake-up, "smell the coffee" -- and realize that the only two remaining oil-rich countries on the planet where the wealthy U.S. Oil Corporations have no interests, are being targeted by Bush and his Oil Corporation buddies.  Don't expect the U. S. Media to ever undergo a great eureka where the lightbult goes on and they realized that this is a Bush \ U.S. War for oil, and has absolutely nothing to do with "Liberating the Iraqi People."

The U.S. Media sold-out its integrity ... going for the big bucks of sleazy tabloid sensationalism.  Keeping the public terrorized is good for the Terrorists, good for Bush and a boon for The U.S. MediaThe U.S. Media makes a good agitprop slave when mutual interests intertwine like this.  Wrapping themselves in the flag with sanctimonious lip-service as they blather Cheap Grace that 'talks-the-talk' without having to 'walk-the-walk' ...  The U.S. television media ... Beating their gums about Homeland Security ... Knowing There is No money for states and cities to implement the empty rhetoric .... Never challenging Massive cuts in programs for the elderly and the poor ... While massive welfare aid packages for the immensely wealthy Disney and Tourist Industry were being implemented.

The U.S. television media ... Disgustingly excessive, insincere adulations and canonizations of U.S. soldiers by Pious U.S. Media Pimps hustling their disingenuous platitudes, making a mockery of the sanctity of Life . . . Death and Truth ... Doling out Contrived Unctuous Homage ... Synthetic Platitudes of the 'Worker Bees' (soldiers) by U.S. Media Sycophants ... Strategically dispensed for Public Consumption (to pump up support for an Indefensible War) ...  knowing all the while that, despite all their bombastic rhetoric, this country has repeatedly screwed-over its veterans ... refusing to acknowledge War related injuries suffered in the Vietnam War and in the Gulf War, in order to dishonestly shirk the financial and medical responsibilities which it promised them then, and which it pays lip-service to now. That's how much The U.S. Media and the government really care about its soldiers.

For effect, the manipulating U.S. Media Hucksters pour on their disingenuous Plaudits in gobs, donning it proudly the way Tammy Faye Baker wears her make-up.  The denser the vanity (pretense) the more shallow the heart it pretends to allude to.

This demagogic pretense has absolutely nothing to do with conveying sincere expressions of gratitude to the soldiers.  It's solely designed to win-over public approval for an unjustifiable and unpopular War under suspect circumstances, while silencing the critics with threatening and maligning McCarthy Era proclamations that they are UNAMERICAN for criticizing or voicing disagreement (See Peter Arnett Story).  The U.S. Media, especially the television media, erroneously believes that its mandatory Patriotic Duty is to become the propaganda wing of the government.
(Left-Click Here).

There are several ways The U.S. Media is coaxing the public to eat its pabulum (buy into the legitimacy of this War).  The leading U.S. Media ruse is citation to bogus "Polls and Studies" which purportedly show the public supports the War

A second equally significant U.S. Media ruse is the deployment of "Selective Cognition and Selective Dissemination" of information.  A recent example of this gimmickery is The U.S. Media's in-lock-step cooperation with Bush in widely publicizing outrage at Iraq's alleged violation of Geneva Convention rules, even though it is common knowledge the Bush regime has patently thumbed its nose at those rules in its handling of prisoners at the Guantanimo Bay POW camp, where POW's are being held indefinitely without ever being charged, without any right to legal counsel, without any right to contact anyone 'on the outside,' without any U.S. government duty to ever disclose who they are holding.  Another example is The U.S. Media's excessive exploitation of loved-one's concerns for their U.S. soldier son, while virtually ignoring, squelching broad public concern for all innocent victims.

The Bush Regime & U.S. Media Propaganda GamePlan

The Art of Scapegoating
A PANDERING TOOL IN THE DEMAGOGUE'S TOOLBOX

The argument we are hearing is that the Iraq War is a Bush \ U.S. War for control of Middle East oil, and has absolutely nothing to do with "Liberating the Iraqi People." The argument goes like this.  Bush spin-doctor strategists needed to package the War in a way that the public would buy into it.  Starting a war in order to give powerful U.S. Oil corporations control over more oil would never sell to the public as a legitimate basis for starting a war.  And the fact Saddam is a homicidal misanthrope, by itself, would not be enough because there were no recent episodes and Saddam's prior atrocities were not anywhere near global in scale.  So the strategy the Bush Regime decided to use is the ages-old scheme of "Scapegoating," which historically has virtually always worked immensely well.

-        Scapegoating- is best defined and described in this way: "A scheme in which political leaders focus on an extremely horrible, lamentable set of prevailing conditions and falsely blame all of the public's woes and suffering from those lamentable conditions on a particular category or group of people who have nothing to do with causing the lamentable conditions.  The ruse red-herring scheme is designed for the explicit purpose of giving the public a focused target for ventilating all of its hostility, rage, hatred, anger against and fear of this false "enemy" (the purported cause of the lamentable conditions) ...... while at the same time serving to foster the false impression that the politician is ahead of the curve, is on top of the situation and is stridently and effectively engaged in an "all-out" campaign to rid the public of this horrible "enemy," thus rescuing the public from its horrific plight."  Many unscrupulous carpetbagging politicians have handsomely profited from this sick, twisted self-serving dupery (Thank you U.S. agitprop media  --  They could never have succeeded without your complicity).

The above Scapegoating description is precisely accurate and applicable to the Iraq War.  Its key objectives are two-fold.  First it serves as a "Red-Herring" decoy-distraction which tricks the public into directing its attention away from "THE REAL CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM" and the fact the politicians have done absolutely nothing to address it.  Secondly it serves to advance the stature and political fortunes of the politicians who successfully execute the ruse.  History tells us that the "Scapegoating Scheme" is astonishingly successful in duping the public during times of extreme crisis, primarily because it is so easy to spook the Herd into a panic stampede or a blind rage.  There is no greater example of it than Hitler's and Gerbil's Scapegoating of the Jews during harsh economic times in Germany.  In the US, loyal law-abiding Japanese-Americans were scapegoated for mistreatment "to appease the gods" and give the public a false sense of security (Internment of Japanese-Americans who the U.S. KNEW had done nothing wrong).  After WWII Sen. Joseph McCarthy and Nixon became tremendously successful, gigantic political icons nearly overnight, by singling out communists as the "Greatest Evil on Earth" ... while keeping the public in a chronic, unrelenting state of terror and fear of imminent demise at the hands of this largely concocted "enemy."  Be sure to read, "The Manipulable Mainstream Herd Mentality."

By now the remarkable parallels with the current Bush Regime "Scapegoat Propaganda GamePlan" are ridiculously obvious.  Bush with his "Axis of Evil" rhetoric to inflame the public with hatred, fear, hostility, anger and resentment against an Iraq Regime.  Bush fraudulently transferring to the Iraq Regime blame for the 9\11 attacks on the US, when there has been no credible evidence that Saddam is linked either to the events of 9\11 or to world-wide terrorism generally (Saddam's atrocities have been quite localized).  Notably, Bush's political fortunes were rapidly disintegrating up until 9\11.  Stoking the flames of public fear and hatred have been immensely fortuitous for the Bush Regime.  Be sure to read about the lack of a case against Saddam Hussein in the article:  "Saddam Hussein Capture - Tempering the Self-Congratulatory Hysteria With Reality"

The Bush Regime 'Scapegoating' Scheme (scam) shapes up like this.  By fraudulently linking Iraq with the events of 9\11 he has given the public a focused target for venting all of its pent-up hatred and anger for the 9\11 attacks.  This scam is frequently seen being used by police when a dangerous serial killer is on the loose.  The public pressure to capture the perpetrator becomes so intense that police frequently start looking for anyone to "pin the crime on" simply so they can relieve the pressure and appease the public with the often misguided notion that "the streets are now safe."

By stirring the US public into an incredible hysterical frenzy and by giving the US public someone to Blame, the Bush Regime has managed to completely reverse its dwindling 'nosedive' political fortunes, while advancing "THE REAL OBJECTIVES" just beneath the surface of things, namely, advancing the Middle East oil interests for his legendary buddies in the US Oil Industry.

It is depressing enough to see a politician like Bush execute such a duplicitous coup, given that his only claim to the Whitehouse comes by way of his Regime's execution of an elections coup which trampled the Constitution and the electoral process.  But it is equally depressing to have to come to grips with the fact that such a large segment of the public can be this easily 'duped' ... sandbagged, snowed, deceived, scammed, sucked-in, sucker-punched.  There seems to be absolutely NO learning curve for society as a whole.  So many of them seem to be the same 'follow the herd' cerebral sloths we've read about in the history books when we have rhetorically posed the question to ourselves: "How could such a thing ever happen?"

... so many of them ... so easily panicked ... so easily stampeded over the edge of the cliff, as each blindly and obediently follows the tail in front of them.

And so the Bush Regime Propaganda Game Plan strategy that worked so well for McCarthy and Gerbils, is taken out of mothballs once again, to dupe the most educated society in history.  When will it ever stop being the perennial -Game Winner- strategy?

Two things we know for sure since the 2000 elections.  This no longer is a Democracy (Of the People, by the People, for the People) and The U.S. Media is no longer the Fourth Branch of the Government.  We now live in a "Corporatocracy" ... A government of the corporation, by the corporation, for the corporation, with the idea that what's good for business is good for everybody because the crumbs they leave behind will be more numerous.  And The U.S. Media has long-since been bought 'lock-stock-and-barrel' by the corporations.

For those who are not on drugs (and apparently there aren't many), a Corporatocracy has reality standing on its head, given the fact that a corporation is a legal fiction, while THE PEOPLE have a concrete palpable reality.  But television's stock and trade has always been to blur the lines between fiction and reality.  It has made its incredible fortunes peddling fiction like snake-oil, as though it had a legitimate reality (it's called 'Propaganda').  Not surprising, then, that the public should become so fickle, lost and confused, with the most powerful influences in their lives (Governments, Corporations and The U.S. Media) brainwashing them ad nauseam with their self-serving flim-flam fictions.

Are we talking about a global conspiracy of psychotic, schizophrenic proportions? No! (no aliens involved ... that we know of).  Are we talking about a conspiracy ... an epidemic of greed, ignorance, narcissism, superficialities and megalomania? That is the only way to describe what the World has been seeing as of late.  Swindler's are successful because their schemes are based on the ordinary person's deep-seated need to believe that human intentions are fundamentally honest - sincere - genuine.  With Bush's coup of the Whitehouse the Corporate Coup (swindle) is finally complete.

This entire episode, and especially The U.S. Media's role in selling this toxic trash to the public as 'potable,' is so repugnant ... so utterly reprehensible, that a full recovery is entirely implausible.  No matter what the outcome for the U.S. military, THE U.S. MEDIA LOST THIS WAR.  And like this War, they will leave behind a toxic wasteland.

NON-U.S. WORLD NEWS MEDIA SOURCES
_____________________________________________________

When we heard the story that Veteran newsman Peter Arnett was sacked by NBC for telling the truth about the war we were not surprised. When we heard that this Pulitzer Prize winner immediately joined the Daily Mirror, a media news source outside of the U.S. we were not surprised.  When we heard that this Pulitzer Prize winner was fired by National Geographic, we all cancelled our National Geographic subscriptions and removed ALL of the National Geographic weblinks from our websites.  We value neutral, objective, accurate news reporting.  We loath propaganda agitprop ragsheets as a dangerous precedent that is antithetical to any legitimate notion of 'True' journalism.

It has said that it is only in times of crisis that people and institutions show their "True Colors." The colors that National Geographic, Fox and NBC have shown in this crisis are as agitprop obscene as it can possibly become.  National Geographic will never again be in our home, in our children's home, in our siblings' homes or in our grandchildren's homes.  We do not want their propaganda trash anywhere near our children.  Our children are going to have an Truthful, accurate, unmolested account of current events and history.  We will not permit the U.S. Media to feed them their pabulum flim-flam propaganda drivel, masquerading as Truth.

This Iraq War has demonstrated conclusively that the U.S. Media cannot be trusted as a news source.  The U.S. Media believes it has a Patriotic Duty to Manipulate Public Perceptions as the propaganda wing of the Bush Regime.  Americans who DEMAND accurate, objective, unmolested World News can Never amd should Never rely on U.S. Television or print Media news sources (There are a very few limited exceptions).

Most U.S. Print Media sources are unreliable, with some exceptions (NY Times & Washington Post).  Otherwise, the U.S. Media have all trashed their credibility.  WN -WORLD NEWS -, AP, UPI, Reuters, Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC Television News, National Geographic are all U.S. Media which tend to present one-sided, agitprop, unreliable propaganda accounts of the news because they are hand-fed by Bush spin-doctors and then proceed to dispense that rubbish as though it was gospel ... like their news coverage banner: "Operation Iraqi Freedom." They erroneously believe it is their Patriotic Duty to Manipulate Public Perceptions as the propaganda wing of the Bush Regime.  In that misguided fervor they have totally trashed their credibility.

The War-Hawk U. S. TV and print Media insist on labelling the banner headline for their War coverage "Operation Iraqi Freedom." Obviously calculated to pump-up War support.  Obvious flim-flam ... because when a 'Liberator' proposes to help a people and improve their lot, they do NOT proceed with a policy predicated on their expendability and exploitation.  They do NOT express a willingness to annihilate large numbers of them in order to 'Help them.' Bush and the War-Hawk U. S. TV Media trumped up the idea of "The U. S. as Liberators" in a Propaganda coup designed to counter opponents' claim that this was a U. S. War For Oil.

This is an exceptionally good selective list of Non-US World News resources -Links- for discriminating readers who DEMAND Accurate Reliable, Unmolested news reporting AND who have come to realize that the US Media CANNOT BE TRUSTED to provide such news.  The U.S. Media erroneously believes it has a Patriotic Duty to Manipulate Public Perceptions pursuant to the Bush Regimes propaganda strategy.  They have trashed their credibility.  It is a scathing impeachment of the integrity of the U.S. Media ... a consortium of profoundly unreliable one-sided agitprop propaganda ragsheets.
Americans who DEMAND accurate, objective, unmolested World News can rely on the remarkable list of International Media Sources below.  This is an exceptionally good, selective list of Non-US World News resources (and Links) for discriminating readers who DEMAND Accurate Reliable Unmolested news reporting AND who have come to realize that the US Media CANNOT BE TRUSTED to provide such news.
