Free online fantasy football and fighting game - Battle Bowl

Don't miss the new multi-player online version of Battle Bowl.

RULES:

The Game: This game is for two contestants. It is loosely based on american football, in that the object is to score touchdowns. There are two major differences from regular football though: firstly there are no downs, and secondly you can attack and kill your opponent's players. In some respects it is similar to the Games Workshop game "Blood Bowl".

Your Turn: Play alternates between the two contestants. On your turn you may do the following things (which must be done in this order):

  1. Move: You can move each of your players up to 4 squares in any direction. You do not have to follow a straight line. You may not move through a square occupied by another player. If a player is in a square adjacent to the ball, he may pick it up, but he may not then continue moving.
  2. Throw: if one of your players has the ball, he can throw it up to 12 squares in any direction. You must designate the target square, then roll the dice. If the sum of the dice is greater than or equal to the number of squares you attempted to throw the ball, the throw was successful and you can place the ball in the target square (if the square is occupied the player in it now has the ball). If the sum of the diec is less than the distance of the throw, the throw fails. Roll the dice to randomly pick a square next to the target square. The ball lands here.
  3. Attack: any player who has not already thrown, caught or picked up the ball this turn can attack an opposing player in an adjoining square. To do this roll the dice, add them together and check the result below:
    2 - 6: No effect
7 - 8: If the attacked player was carrying the ball, they drop it into an adjacent square (roll again to pick a square at random)
9 - 12: As for 7 - 8, plus the attacked player is injured. See below.
Injured Players: If a player is injured, roll the dice to find the severity of the injury:
2 - 7: Light Injury
8 - 10: Bad Injury
11 - 12: Dead
Place the player in the appropriate box by the sidelines. If you have players in the "Reserves" box, you can bring one on at the start of your next turn to replace the injured player. The reserve must enter the field via one of the six squares next to the "Reserves" box.

When a Touchdown is Scored: If one of your players has the ball in your opponents End Zone, you have scored a touchdown. Add 1 to your score. Both contestants now move any players they have in the "Bad Injury" box into the "Light Injury" box, and any players they have in the "Light Injury" box into the "Reserves" box. Using the players on the field and any available players in the reserves box, both contestants assemble a maximum of 11 players back in their own end zone, place the ball in the center of the field, and begin again. The contestant who conceeded the touchdown goes first.

Winning: The winner is the first contestant to score 3 touchdowns.
