Two of my novels Gossip Column and Ashley's Rainbow and my short story The Talk of the Town are set in 1940's Hollywood. This is due in part to the influence that the artistry and intrigues of the era have had on me. My other novel The Fragrant Trail : a Rusty Linden Mystery weaves its way through the suburbs of Sydney as top crime reporter, Rusty Linden, attempts to track down a ruthless killer who murders women at random.
Reading is one of my great loves and I enjoy biographies, histories, travel books, fiction and poetry. Favourite authors include Amy Witting, Olivia Manning, Patricia Highsmith, Estelle Thompson and Robert Goddard.
Not surprisingly, old movies are also a great love. I very much admire the marvellous commedienne Jean Arthur, star of such classics as You Can't Take It With You and The More the Merrier. Barbara Stanwyck, the actress critics claim never put in a bad performance,
is another favourite.
