My Current Project Car - '92 Dodge Stealth R/T TT




This Site is dedicated to my current project car. It is a '92 Dodge Stealth R/T TT. I have had it since April 2003, but I spun a bearing in May 2003. Here it is on the towtruck being delivered to my apartment. When the car spun a bearing, it only had intake, BOV, DP, exhaust, and MBC. In November 2004 I got the car running again, and in all the time I had before I got it running I installed almost all of the mods that I had for it. It was a long time since the car has been running, but all the hard work payed off. Driving it again was great, especially since I had made it a little bit faster than it was before it spun the bearing. The car is currently running, but is in storage for the winter in IL, while I'm in NJ.



Since I had to rebuild the motor, or swap in a new one, I took the opportunity to mix and match the best parts from the various 3 generations of the 3/S cars. I have '99 lifters from the 3rd gen VR4, because they get rid of the infamous lifter tick. I also put in a 4 bolt motor from a 2nd gen VR4. The 2ng gen block is a 4 bolt instead of a 2 bolt, which means that there are 4 bolts on each cap on the girdle instead of 2. The 2nd gen block also came with a forged crank, as the 1st gen cars had a weaker cast crank. I retained the 1st gen heads but put 2nd gen cams in them. The 2nd gen cams are said to have a little less lift than the 1st gen cams, but it is said that it's not noticable. I only put these in because I left my other cams in storage in Illinois, and I was in Florida when I put everything back together. More information about my mods is provided in the links below.

The heads were ported and polished by a guy in Utah that has been doing machining for many years, and worked on race teams. He has a 9 second Pontiac Astre that he has been building, and he did his headwork. I also got a 3 angle valve job done with the P&P job. The heads have all new valves in them as well.

These are the 3 vehicles that I had while I was still in Florida. I still have the avalon(which is also in IL), but am currently driving a 2000 Explorer XLT AWD V8 while I'm in NJ. I needed something that I knew could handle a winter without problem. I haven't really had to put up with winters for a while, being in FL at school.
