| .The concert was over. Kidra played her best as usual. Her private dressing rooms were surrounded, as always, with gifts from men who wanted her, well-wishers, and admiring fans. She closed her eyes to shrug off her loneliness and her tension. It was not good to get upset right now. She was tired of running, of hiding in silence. She knows now what she didnt know before. She has a destiny. A destiny with either rebirth or certain death. It was not of her choosing, it was of her calling. Kidra was a beautiful woman. She stood almost six feet in height. She had smooth skin, the color of cinnamon, her long, thin braids graced her long thick back and danced around her full waist. Her eyes were golden brown. She was a royal princess. Daughter of noble blood. She was received by kings and queens. She?s had honor after honor. She was born in a village in Africa of a very rich and noble king of her tribe. Her grandfather, a sorcerer, taught her magic. Her father was a prince. He gave her other gifts. Coupled with the arts of magic, Kidra is and will always be Her Royal Majesty Kidra Ansari Mofulu Master Vampire. She sat and waved her hand over the mirror, and her image appeared in front of her. It was the only way she couldnt give herself away. There were some things she could do. The sorcery protects her. She has lived a long time. Kidra closed her eyes and let the silence she commanded cover her and endrench her thoughts. It didn?t seem that long ago that she was a happy child living in her village. As she sat and closed her eyes, the sights and sounds were played out loud in whispering voices around the room. In the mirror was the reflection of what she thought. She was at the market place when a man came to her and NASEERA 6 looked at her, in her eyes. He bought all the scarves that her best friend, Nacombe, had made to sell that day. He followed her home and watched her. Then, during the next few days, she would see him and her father talking. One such day, they argued, and he was asked to leave, never to return. What does he want? He wants you. But why does he want me? I have no desire for such a man. I am young, and I live here. I will not be given away like some cattle! He looked at her and smiled. The king walked past her. Before reaching his hut, he turned and looked at her. Go and visit your grandfather, he has much to tell you. |
| Naseera is an up and coming author that enjoys crossing genres. Kidra is an example of that. With the introduction of her new book, she has done what is sure to become a new face of urban horror. No other African American author has done what Kidra has done. "I enjoy putting my characters in situations that are unique." Kidra is the first book published, but is not the only work planned. Other titles to look out for from the author Naseera are as follows: Kidra II:ETERNAL BLOOD EVELYN BY A TWISTED FATE T.J.WHEELER THE MATE. |
