FUNCTIONS OF THE BIODIVERSITY ADVOCACY AND CAPABILITY BUILDING PROGRAM

   1.   Work for the adoption by regional development planning councils and bodies, especially those organized by the National Economic Development Authority, of biodiversity conservation as a priority agenda in development planning    

   2.   Work for the adoption by local governments of biodiversity conservation sites, programs, and ordinances

   3.   Mobilize experts and professionals to build a network of scientific and technical expertise to support training, policy making, research, and advocacy in biodiversity conservation

   4.   Develop, popularize, and disseminate biodiversity conservation advocacy materials among the general public in order for them to appreciate biodiversity conservation science as well as support biodiversity conservation policy formulation, enrichment, and implementation  

   5.   Support or launch capability-building activities for the adoption by local governments and groups of biodiversity conservation ordinances, measures, and programs
