| Task - Calling all future philosphers of the world! Your task is to gain wisdom by gathering information about life in ancient Greece. You and your Athenian colleague will visit links and learn more about this unique ancient civilization that still influences our lives today. |

| Art task A. Your last task is to create a folded card that reflects one aspect of ancient Greek culture that you have recently learned about. Remember, you and a partner will visit internet links together, but each is responsible for their own final product. B. You will lightly sketch a picture on the left side of this paper(12" X 18") that accurately reflects an aspect of Greek culture and color it with colored pencils. You are to leave no white paper showing unless it is white in nature. On the left and right side of your sketch you are to have one type of Greek column that you learned about when you studied Greek architecture. C. You must also include one paragraph explaining your colored sketch. You should use the information gathered on this web quest and you may also use the books we have in our classroom. Also, you will print it on lined paper or type it on the computer using number 14 font. This paragraph will be created using the steps in the writing process and your rough draft must be edited by you first and then your teacher. You must also share your rough draft with your partner and he/she will share what the strong points are and where you might like to try something different in your article. The paragraph will be glued on the right side of your card. D. You will present your project to the class and will be evaluated using a rubric. BONUS Mosaic: A Home Project -Earn a bonus grade with quality work! Create a mosaic using small squares(1/2" squares) of colored construction paper or small circles punched out of colored construction paper. The paper you glue the circles or squares to should be no larger than an 8 1/2" X 11" . Let your creativity flow as you create a design. Creative use of colors is important. You are to use no more than four colors for your circles or squares. |
