After
the release and success of films SUR and KAANTE Lucky Ali is
now working on his new album Iksoi . His hair
has grown and the stubble is thick – leftover of the Kaante look
perhaps? But Lucky Ali still wears that characteristic forlorn expression
in his eyes even as he smiles. He must be happy though, now that Kaante
has finally released and been declared a hit too.
"Yes, I am happy. I was worried when everyone would
ask me when the movie's releasing and I didn't know myself," he says. Is
that all? Wasn't he worried how the film would turn out, after all he
played a key role in the film? "I was given a part, I played it to my best
and I'd leave it at that. Nevertheless the people and the experience were
wonderful," says Lucky.
After Sur and Kaante,
there's a lot of speculation on whether he's planning a foray into
acting. But Lucky dispels doubts. "Acting is not my passion. I took up
these films because the roles were good, the people involved in the film
were good and well, the money was good," he says.
Understandable. After all he is a
successful musician and singer, on the verge of releasing his 4th
album Iksoi (Conclusion), and there is
no real reason for him have to start from scratch.
But then again, music too, it
seems, is not where his heart is, "Well I grew up with music, and I'd
rather see this as a hobby that is doubling as a profession. It's for me
one of the things I do to eke out a living." Just when the nonchalance
begins to alarm you he says, "I do enjoy agriculture though. I love to
dabble in organic farming at my farm in Bangalore."
Lucky Ali's myriad interests do
not end here. "What I'm most excited about is the new company,
Blue Lotus, that I've launched in
collaboration with Columbus Entertainment. In
fact, through this, I am launching my album," he says, adding
mysteriously, "I plan to change the face of entertainment with this
venture. Just wait and watch."
