- Aussie Plus Project. In 2006/7 we developed Version 1 of our Audio CD "Raising children with more than one language". Parts of the CD are available for download from http://www.bilingualfamilies.net free of charge. Version 2 has been in the making for some time and will be launched at the end of June 2009.
- Upon request of many people we are holding a second Multicultural Lantern Walk. Join us this Saturday 04 July 2009 from 5pm. The walk starts at 6pm. More information here.
- The next workshop on "Raising children with more than one language" in the Perth metropolitan region is scheduled for Saturday 29 August 2009 in Leederville. More information here.

Projects and project ideas
- The Project AUSSIE PLUS has developed an AudioCD for parents with moer than one language, available on disk and for download over the Internet. This audio resource provides information about "Raising Children with more than one language" and on on bilingualism in general, useful for parents and adults with interest in the subject. The project was partly funded by the WA Department of Education and Training. You can download parts of the Audio CD as mp3 files from our new website: http://www.bilingualfamilies.net .
- BFP would like to establish a Family Languages Australia Resource Centre, to deliver and coordinate language support for families with more than one language, so that the children are able to develop their literacy well and reach their full potential and to ensure good family communication. BFP is currently developing a resource centre proposal. More details here.
- To be involved in an Australian Language Action Alliance. Lingo (www.lingo.org.au) is the web face of the Languages Action Alliance. Bilingual Families Perth has been involved in setting up this new Australian network which aims to:

Motivate and empower parents from all backgrounds to make informed decisions and take initiatives to support the development of bilingual skills for their children
- Connect parents, educators, teachers, community groups and language organisations for the purpose of promoting and supporting language teaching and learning
- Raise the Australian public�s awareness about the benefits of multilingualism
- Raise government bodies� awareness of what parents want in terms of support and services for language learning
- Deliver the message that as individuals and as community we can make a difference.
Please especially take the time to answer their online survey that will help the group in identifying future projects and strategies.
. - To develop fact sheets about various issues related to raising children with more than one language.
- To develop a Resource Kit for Language Coordinators and bilingual parents who would like to establish a Kids Language Club. If you are interested in getting together with other same language parents, start with our brochure How to start a new Kids Language Club.
