Save Glen Ogle snack bar -    bikers 'n' hikers respite

For 19 years there has been a snack bar at the car park in Glen Ogle, (A84 from Lochearnhead to Crianlarich ) but now, certain 'neighbours' are wanting it to be shut down - both the car park and the snack bar - because, they say, it is 'creating too much mess'. If they had ever bothered to get off their backsides to cross over the road to take a look at when the snack bar has packed up and gone home, they wouldn't find a single crumb or piece of paper to show that anyone had been there in the first place!! Ron and Sheila Ullnar moved to Scotland because they thought that it was so beautiful and friendly a place to live .They then decided to buy the snack bar, knowing that there were many, many visitors to the area who shared their love of this country. What a great idea to provide the weary travellers a brief respite with an excellent choice of food and drink, good company and, especially for bikers, a chance to catch up with friends. Formerly known as 'The Crannog', Ron and Sheila bought the snack bar two years ago from John, who had been running a snack bar from the car park for the previous 17 years - with NO complaints from the neighbours who have been living in the area for (about) the last 20 years. SO WHY ARE THEY COMPLAINING NOW?? As a 'biker-chick', I am quite disgusted at the attitude and behaviour of these 'neighbours'. My friend and I often leave Glasgow purely to visit the snack bar. The scenery on the journey is, as everyone is aware, absolutely breathtaking, and the food at this point in our travels is just as good. The teas and coffees are served in proper mugs, not disposable plastic cups, there are information/leaflets provided for walkers and bikers alike, cleaning equipment provided FREE OF CHARGE for bikers to keep their helmets/bikes clean, even wipes for those sticky little fingers!!  The reason for this site, is to make fellow bikers (and other travellers) aware of what is happening, and to urge them to visit the snack bar and to sign the petition to prevent it's closure. I have seen many motorists throwing rubbish out of their car windows as they drive along - something  impossible for those on motorbikes to do, so I am wondering if these 'neighbours' have considered banning motorists from driving past their house on the A84??
