A CONVERSATION WITH DAN BARTON
The following interview was conducted at Dan Barton's home in Los Angeles on March 3rd, 2001.

Who are you and how did you get into my house?

What was your inspiration for writing HECKLER?

I'm not kidding. I have a gun.

We understand you are still a performing stand-up comedian. What personal experiences did you draw upon to create the character of comedian turned amateur detective Biff Kincaid?

Hangovers.

Biff is six feet tall, with strawberry blond hair and blue eyes. Did you model his  physical description after yourself?

Especially in the shower.

What comedians do you most admire?

Guys who don't steal my jokes.

As a comedian, what prompted you to start writing mysteries?


Unemployment.

What do comedians find the most realistic aspects of the Biff Kincaid mystery series?

The fighting, drinking and sex.

What inspired you to become a stand-up comedian?

The fighting, drinking and sex.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?

Pack a big lunch.
