My grandmother Peggy (my mother's mom) has been researching my famiy tree for years. Recently, grama Peggy has asked me to try finding some missing information. I am looking for information on my great, great, great, grandparents.
My family on my mother's side originated from Northeren Ireland. The area known as Co.Antrim,Islandmagee. My grandmother Peggy was the first of her siblings to be born here in the United States. Her mother Maggie and her brother Edwin traveled together from Ireland to Pennisylvania. They never stopped at Elis Island, the traditional landing point of imigrants. Her Father was a sea captain. This was a trait that was not uncommon to my family, along with farming.
This is a small sample outline of the family tree, starting with ME
Maureen, Brenna, & Mike--

Allen, Mary-my mother,& Mark--

Emerald & Buddy my grandparents
** all research has been done

**Robert Forbes**Missing Link From My Great Grandfather's Family
While researching family, my grandmother has not been able to find any information about Robert Forbes. Robert and Arthur Forbes (1st) we believe were brothers. Robert came to the United States to fight in the Civil War for the South. Then he moved to Pennsylvania. When my Great Grandfather Arthur Forbes(2and) came to the United States, he stayed with Robert in Pennsylvania. At that time Robert Forbes was a very old man. We believe this was before or around the 1920's. My grandmother would like to contact with Robert's Family in Pennsylvania if possible.
I have been blessed to have found
a few people here on the internet that also have relation or live on Islandmagee.
They are currently corresponding with me, in hopes to find other information
about my family. My grandmother has kept a journal of many stories
about her family from "the old country." I hope that I can post a
few samples of her work here in her on honor to share with others that
are seeking information about their families. I find many of my grandmothers
stories interesting. She has a sharp memory for details even at the
age of 83yrs.
I am posting here a few links to
