COMING TOGETHER
Just like hearing an old familiar melody on the radio could transport you back to an impressive period of time (songs like "I Love You More Today Than Yesterday" by Spiral Staircase, "Yesterday" by the Beatles, and what about "Since You've Been Gone" by Eddie Peregrina ha..ha..ha...), seeing old friends also bring back floods of memories (lalo siguro no karibal mo pay isu idi inya?). Truly, reunions are godsend opportunities to look back at a wonderful era, and it makes us feel young again uray kasatno kinarigat iti panag-biyag!
On February 5, 2005, I had an unexpected journey back in time when I saw
Jun Peralta, our classmate during our sophomore and junior years at PHS. Accidental laeng pinagkita mi ta nagpasyar kami laeng idyay Anilao, Batangas para ag sight-seeing ket nalabasan mi dyay Keppel Batangas Shipyard along Bauan. To make the story short, we dropped by Keppel on our way back home. At last, nagkita kami after 35 years! Although it was brief, we had experienced a magic moment never to be forgotten, and hopefully we will stay in touch from now on. Right, pards?
Also on January 22, 2005, our friend Ave flew from Japan to San Diego
for a weeklong training (ows, umpano golf itan amigo ha!) and had another opportunity to get together with
some of our high school friends; Ramon Canto, Dalisay Perez de Villa (with Jun),
Chit Orinion Malbog (with Ernesto), Dimna Lopez Mateo, Gloria Aurea Zaldarriaga, and Nelson Pondivida (with Linda). Akin Jorge, kulan mo nen saman ey? Pati si Marrieta? Maong ni Jun Sandoval ta anggano ag akaumay et akatawag ed sikaran nan-reunion diman! Click on the pictures and you'll see what I mean!
