5 July 2008: A large number of new vehicle sheets have been posted, for gorund vehicles, aircraft and mecha. Here's where they are:
27 Apr 2008: NATO forces get beefed up in the round of updates, as I've posted writeups for several German Army vehicles, as well as the British AS-90 howitzer and the improved models of HMMWVs currently in service. Stop by the Motor Pool page for more information.
22 Mar 2008: As I was updating my ex-Soviet tank writeups, I discovered that I'd been applying the Backup Communications Perk to too many vehicles. I've made some more minor updates to vehicles on the Motor Pool page. Check them out.
18 Mar 2008: Based on new research I've done, I've dramatically rewritten some of my writeups for ex-Soviet tanks. Check the Motor Pool page for more information; I will be updating other vehicles to this degree in the near future.
4 Mar 2008: Updated writeups of the T-80U and T-90 tanks have been added to the Motor Pool page, and I've listed more planned writeups for the future. These include Heavy Gear Second Edition writeups from the D20 Mecha Compendium, and more aircraft vehicles from the 1960's and 1970's.
1 Jan 2008: Happy New Year to one and all. I've made some minor updates to the Heavy Gear Second Edition sheets, and I have expanded the New Weapons Table in Banzaidyne Custom Works.
There's some more vehicle writeups in the works, as well as a couple of article ideas. Stay tuned.
9 Dec 2007: I've added a few new sheets for the Second Edition rules - the M124 Highly Mobile Artillery Rocket System, the Komatsu Light Armored Vehicle from Japan, and that classic mecha from Mobile Police Patlabor, the AV-98 Ingram!
I'm also going to convert vehicles from the D20 Mecha Compendium Deluxe Edition to Second Edition stats, much as I've done with the SilCORE rules. The links will be added to Banzaidyne Custom Works as the sheets are completed.
19 Sep 2007: It's been a long time coming, but my review cycle is complete. All of my vehicle sheets for Heavy Gear Second Edition and SilCore have been updated, with new information and game statistics. The only vehicle sheets I still have to work on are those for HG 2nd Edition for the T-80 and T-90 tanks from Russia, as I need to do some more research. I'll post them when they are ready.
I have other vehicle sheets planned for future updates; these are marked on the Motor Pool and the the Flight Line pages in gray italic type
29 Apr 2007: Things have been rather crazy this past winter, but I've been able to start doing some work here again. I'm starting a "review cycle," where I'm going through and cleaning and updating all of the pages that need it. As an example, I've started with the writeups for the M998 HMMWV, for both the Heavy Gear Second Edition and SilCORE rules.
I've made some formatting changes to the writeups, and I'm updating the stats where necessary. I'll make announcements here when various blocks of writeups are updated, stating with the various SilCORE writeups (because there just aren't that many).
8 Oct 2006: I've added some writeups to my D20 Mecha Compendium Conversions, for the Phoenix Rising setting. It's been my first experiment with the SilCORE rules for "battle suits", and I'm pleased with the results.
I've also written a vehicle sheet for Heavy Gear 2nd Edition for the M1117 Guardian Armored Security Vehicle, which is making a big splash among U.S. Army MP units in Iraq and elsewhere in the world.
20 Jul 2006: I've finally written new material for Banzaidyne Press. Read the writeup of Emily-2165, a GREL in Port Arthur who's taken a new job, and her backstory, "Serious Profession".
8 Jul 2006: The U.S. Navy is in the process of consolidating their helicopter fleets around two models of the MH-60 Seahawk. Check out The Flight Line and Banzaidyne Spiral for stats for the MH-60R and MH-60S models of the Seahawk.
20 Jun 2006: The MQ-1 Predator UAV has been remarkably successful in Afghanistan and elsewhere, and stats are now posted for Heavy Gear 2nd Edition and SilCORE.
5 Jun 2006: I've added a Heavy Gear 2nd Edition writeup for the F-4E Phantom II. Show those pesky MiGs what for!
2 Jun 2006: "It's a MiG, MiG, MiG, MiG World" at Banzaidyne, now that I've written Heavy Gear 2nd Edition sheets for the MiG-21 "Fishbed," MiG-23 "Flogger," MiG-25 "Foxbat" and MiG-27 "Flogger-D". Stop by The Flight Line page for more!
31 May 2006: It's been a long stretch, but I've finally added more material. A long-planned project is finally checked off my list with the SilCORE writeup of the Space Shuttle Orbiter!
25 Mar 2006: I've added another set of vehicle writeups to the SilCORE pages. Visit the Banzaidyne Spiral page to learn more.
I have no further plans to convert my vehicle writeups from Heavy Gear Second Edition to SilCORE, however. I'm not happy with the results I've been getting trying to make one VCS talk to another, and would prefer to spend my time working on other projects. I will use the SilCORE rules elsewhere, but for Heavy Gear and my modern vehicle sheets, I am sticking with the Second Edition rules.
1 Mar 2006: I've added a new category of aircraft to The Flying Circus's Flight Line, as two electronic warfare aircraft are now posted for the Heavy Gear Second Edition rules. The EA-6B Prowler and EA-18G "Growler" will soon have sheets written up for SilCORE, and I'll also have stats for EW-related weapons such as the AGM-88 HARM.
21 Feb 2006: My set of the "Latest and Greatest" continues with the MV-22 Osprey, the famed "tiltrotor" aircraft which is finally entering service. Writeups are available for Heavy Gear Second Edition and the SilCORE rules.
18 Feb 2006: I've created writeups for the U.S. Air Force's latest and greatest, the F-22A Raptor, for Heavy Gear Second Edition and the SilCORE rules. Enjoy.
12 Feb 2006: I've finally been able to finish some projects: vehicle sheets for the Eurofighter Typhoon, as well as the French Rafale and Mirage 2000 fighters. Check out the Flight Line pages for Heavy Gear Second Edition and SilCORE.
9 Feb 2006: It's been really busy lately, but I've been able to write up the famous "AWACS" airborne control center (more properly known as the E-3B Sentry). See the writeups for both Heavy Gear 2nd Edition and Silhoutte CORE Edition.
4 Jan 2006: I've finally gotten over the hump of the holiday season, and I have a few more SilCORE updates. Check out the Heavy Gear 2nd to 3rd Edition Conversions page.
8 Nov 2005: I'm happy to announce the opening of two new subsidiaries for Banzaidyne:
24 Oct 2005: I've begun conversions from several Heavy Gear Second Edition books to SilCORE stats. Vehicles from the Northern Guard Army List, the Southern MILICIA Army List, and the Southern Republic Army List now appear in the HG 2nd Edition Conversions.
I've also created a tool to convert between the Terranovan calendar and the Gregorian calendar (what we use in North America and much of the world). I'd call this a beta version, but the Terranovan Date Conversion Guide is out there for you to use.
22 Sep 2005: More conversions from the D20 Mecha Compendium Deluxe Edition, as I've created writeups for the mecha from the Trabajodores Mόviles Armados setting. Visit the D20MC Conversions Page to see more!
19 Sep 2005: My aircraft library continues to grow, as writeups for the B-29 Superfortress and the Messerschmitt Me 262 are now posted. Check out the Flight Line pages for both Silhouette CORE and Heavy Gear Second Edition.
18 Sep 2005: From my "It Came From The 80's" file: a writeup of the helicopter Airwolf, from the TV show of the same name.
14 Sep 2005: The hits just keep on coming: I've written up the MiG-31 "Foxhound" in both Heavy Gear 2nd Edition and SilCORE stats, and a SilCORE writeup of the Mach 5 from Speed Racer. Enjoy!
11 Sep 2005: Finally, my updates are complete with my finishing the Banzaidyne Helios and Banzaidyne Press pages.
As for today's anniversary, I'll just post this from my last visit to the United Air Lines Flight 93 site.
2 Sep 2005: It's been said by many others, but it bears repeating here - after Hurricane Katrina, the Gulf Coast of the United States is going to need help for a long time to come. Please contribute to the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army or another charity you trust.
We'll get through this.
23 August 2005: The updates continue with the Banzaidyne Spiral pages.
22 August 2005: The Banzaidyne Custom Works pages have received a facelft, which I'm going to apply to all of Banzaidyne. I've finally learned how to write and use Cascading Style Sheets, and it's really made a difference in my Web work. Look for other such improvements very soon.
18 July 2005: Here's what I needed the new weapons stats for: the Su-27 "Flanker" for Heavy Gear Second Edition. I've also written up its counterpart, the F/A-18E Super Hornet.
15 July 2005: I've needed to create new weapons for my vehicle conversions, and I thought other folks might find the stats useful. Check out Banzaidyne Custom Works' Expanded Weapons Tables.
4 July 2005: Some housekeeping today. I've expanded Banzaidyne Press into its own section, since I'm writing about more than just Heavy Gear anymore. In fact, I've posted an article for Star Wars D6 that generated a lot of interest on the RPG.net forums: "Harry Potter, Jedi Knight!"
20 June 2005: I've written up stats for the now-defunct RAH-66 Comanche, for both Heavy Gear 2nd Edition and SilCORE stats. It was a neat-looking bird, but cost and time overruns coupled with the success of UAVs in Afghanistan doomed it before it went into production.
13 June 2005: For comparison's sake, I've gone ahead and worked out the B-52H in SilCORE stats. Take a look and compare.
7 June 2005: It's bad, it's beautiful, it's BUFF - yes, it's the evergreen B-52H Stratofortress. I've posted stats for Heavy Gear 2nd Edition, but I think I'll post SilCORE stats for this too.
4 May 2005: I've finished the SilCORE conversions from the D20 Mecha Compendium Deluxe Edition's Gear Krieg Modern setting with the inclusion of the R-57 Mobile SCUD Launcher. I'll likely post a conversion of the real SCUD-B TEL vehicle soon.
21 Apr 2005: I've created something special for SilCORE users: the beginning of stat conversions from the D20 Mecha Compendium Deluxe Edition! I've started with the mecha for the Gear Krieg Modern (since I have most of the data on hand anyway); check out the Banzaidyne Spiral page!
I've also decided that while I'll use the SilCORE rules for other projects, I'm going to stick with the Second Edition rules set for my Heavy Gear work, particularly the vehicle writeups. I just prefer the way the Second Edition rules do certain things.
17 Mar 2005: I've gone through and cleaned a lot of pages to fix problems, broken links and so forth. I've also found many more pictures to grace my vehicle writeup pages, especially those of Russian and former Soviet vehicles. Check out the the Motor Pool page for more.
And as a bonus, I've posted two new vehicle writeups for Heavy Gear 2nd Edition: the Ka-50 "Hokum" and the Mi-8/17 "Hip." SilCORE versions are planned as well.
14 Dec 2004: Welcome to the new home of Banzaidyne! This site will have all of the material you've enjoyed for so long, plus all-new material for the Silhouette CORE Rules. Welcome, and stay tuned!
