Curahee and camp Toccoa
This was the place where Easy Company were turned from boys to men.
The story begins in camp Toccoa and revolves mostly around the theme of Easy under command of Herbert Sobel,
Sobel wants his company to be the best in the airborne and constantly sends Easy out for ten mile hikes in the pouring rain at night with full pack.
2nd Lt. Winters gets promoted to full Lt. Sobel gives Winters the duty of mell hall officer for four weeks and tells Winters to prepare the men a special meal "spaghetti"
Winter does so and as the men are packing it away Sobel bursts in to the mess hall and orders Easy that they will be running Curahee.
Running up a hill on a full stomach was not a good idea and many of the men were sick as they ran up the hill. The only thing that got them to the top was there comradership and their hate for their illustrious C.O. Sobel.

The men pass Toccoa and then have to prepare for jump school, which means exiting from a C-47.
Most of the men pass the jump training and earn their wings.
