The Roma

Esma Redzepova - Queen of the Gypsies (Official Site)  
Perhaps the best known Romani performer, and a great humanitarian. Her famous Chaje Shukarije (original version) plays when the library homepage opens - Track 3 in "Songs of a Macedonian Gypsy" that I am still trying to find from a direct source. You can get it from MultiKulti (Sweden). From the official site, you can listen to her fiesty Chaje Shukarije (new version) and many others, or order her newest CD Nasvali So Uljum. Here is a Balkan source of Romske Pesme.
