Bainbridge School was built in 1908, remodeled in 1916, and enlarged in 1922. This school was used until its closing in 1969. At that time Bainbridge was consolidated with Roachdale and Russellville to form North Putnam School.In 1922 Bainbridge gymnasium was built and at that time was the largest gym in the County. The Putnam County Sectional was held there for two years.
Over the years Principals who served at Bainbridge School included, Jonas Moore, Claude McKay, Bruce Lane, Clyde Wilson, Paul Crodian, Jewel Vaughn, Glen Hovermale, Sam Valentine, Chester Simler, Ernest Chilson, Albert Harshbarger, Ray Alishouse, Paul Parker, Glen Steele and Norman Evans.
