Welcome to the homepage of The Trinity Grove, the mother Grove of the Druidic Order of the Most Holy Trinity, a Christian Druid Order and Celtic spirituality group in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Rooted in the authentic Celtic Christian tradition (Celtic Catholic) as well as the traditions of revival Druidism, the group is on-going, meeting each month for teaching, discussion, prayer, ritual and meditation. Our rituals, marking the Solstices, Equinoxes and Cross Quarter days draw on the Druidic traditions of Iolo Morganwg, the Ancient Druid Order, the Universal Bond, the order of Bards Ovates and Druids and other more innovative and recent sources. These rituals are blended seamlessly with celebrations of the Celtic Eucharist, Vespers and Benediction, again compiled from a variety of Celtic and Liberal Catholic sources.

The group is led by Bishop Alistair Bate CCP, assisted by Br David Upton CCP and a number of other clergy from the Episcopal, Presbyterian and Interfaith traditions are also represented in the group but laity also play important and leading roles.

Some members of the group are also members of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids however the Grove also offers its own distinctive initiations to the grades of Bard, Ovate and Druid. There is a reliance on the techniques and practices of Celtic Shamanism throughout the grades as Bishop Alistair has received training in this field from renowned Celtic scholars John and Caitlin Matthews.

The Order is a mystery school under the spiritual patronage of Iolo Morganwg, Chief Nuinn, St Brigid of Kildare and St Tugdual of St Dolay.

We are interested in suitable membership applications from people able to travel to meetings and are happy to share our resources with others globally who may feel inspired by our fairly unique vision.

Bishop Alistair is available to conduct Rites of Passage, and one-to-one for spiritual direction and healing. Healing is given either sacramentally or by use of Celtic Reiki or Shamanic techniques. He is also available for tuition in Celtic Reiki, a gentle hands-on vibrational healing method.
