Objectives of the foundation
1. Provide children from low income families with basic education.
2. Provide children with adequate medicine and food to promote a healthy life style.
3. Educate the parents about the importance of hygiene, health, and nutrition.
History of the Foundation
The foundation was born in order to combat the extreme poverty which exists in the community of Tzanchaj, for poverty goes hand in hand with family problems and delinquency, a current national problem in Guatemala. My desire to help come from my personal struggles growing up in Tzanchaj and from observing the current struggles of families who have small children now, mentions Benino. The project was created o foundation which supports children between the ages of 4-6 to attend preschool without the extra aid that the project provides. The average person in Tzanchaj makes less than two dollars a day and often depends on the help of his children to complete work tasks such as carrying wood or harvesting crops.
Currently we are helping 30 children who assist the little school. Our gold is to focus on pre-school age children to give them a head start before entering the Guatemala public education system. We believe that with a strong desire and commitment anything is possible and with your help we may be able to accomplish what seemed impossible at first.
A Message From the Founder
It fills me with happiness to give to the children of my community. I wish I could give each and every one of them a better life, this is my dream. I would like to support the children of my community with possibilities of education and health supplies. As the President and founder of our foundation I have committed myself to improving the quality of life for the youth in my town. I am a waiter at the Hotel and Restaurant Posada de Santiago and my daily work is very modest. However, I am confident that my desire and inner strength will allow for development of my project and the betterment of the lives of the children in my community.
The majority of our donations have come from individuals like you who have opened their hearts for the good will of youth, leaving behind peace, love and happiness for the children of Santiago.
