WELCOME TO OKLAHOMA AWHONN ON THE WEB! Oklahoma AWHONN serves women's health, obstetric and neonatal nurses in Oklahoma through education, networking and advocacy. Oklahoma AWHONN offers many special events and activities to women's health obstetric and neonatal nurses in Oklahoma. We are excited about the new "Oklahoma AWHONN Road Show." The "Road Show" is an educational offering with pre-approved continuing education credits that is brought to your area by Oklahoma AWHONN. The length of the program and the topic(s) covered are selected by you. AWHONN members please contact Lisa Early for more information and to arrange for the "Road Show" to come to your area. Oklahoma AWHONN provides AWHONN members with assistance in arranging AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring courses. Both basic and advanced courses are available. Please contact Barbara O'Brien. Mark your calendars for the 2002 Section Conference to be held in Tulsa on April 26 and 27, 2002. It promises to be exciting and a fun time to learn with your Oklahoma colleagues. Members always are able to attend at a reduced fee. The Oklahoma AWHONN Advocacy Committee monitors legislation at the state and national level that pertains to nursing and to the health of women and children. Please contact Paula Immel to be included on the Legislative Action List. Any AWHONN member who joins the list will be notified when the voices of nurses need to be heard on a nursing or health issue. If you are not a member, please access the national AWHONN site to join. We want you to be a part of all the exciting opportunities for AWHONN members in Oklahoma. If you have questions, please contact Paula Jackson. Remember, if you are a member and you recruit three new members your membership next year is FREE!!! We hope you enjoy this site and visit it often. Please contact any of the officers with suggestions of what we can do to make Oklahoma AWHONN even more relevant and responsive to your needs. |
