Easy 3D drinking glasses

Open Illustrator and go to new document(i usually use the standar 8x11in).
Click on the pen tool and place a point towards the top of the screen. Draw another anchor point halway down the screen and hold shift so it is perfectly verticle. Then add another point to the right of  the 2nd point, curve the bottom to form the bottom of a glass.
Create another verticle anchor point so it is level with the beginning and then connect them to form half of the glass outline.{pic1}

Next, go to Effect, 3D, then revolve. A window pops up (you can mess around with the options if you would like) and just click ok. It might take a little bit of time depending on how slow your computer is. It should look something like this.{pic2}
To make it look more like a glass change the fill color to a very light blue(make sure you make the actual line transparent).{pic3}

That is the basis, but to make it look more like a glass try creating a new outline that resembles something like this{pic4}
Repeat the process to get the light blue glass, but this time the inside is hollow!

Now no glass is complete without its liquid. Make a square using the Square tool on your tool bar that will fit in the area of your outline{pic5} I made it red so you can see the difference. Now make it 3D like in the earlier steps and also make the glass outline 3D.

Next, make sure that the glass is on top of the liquid(you can just press shift+ctrl+] and it will bring it to the front). The liquid i chose was wine(red) because it will show up better for this tutorial. Click on the glass and press shift+F10 to pull up the transparency window. Now where it says "Normal" drop the window down and click "Darken". BAM! The wine shows up and it looks like it is in the glass!{pic6}
