This can lead to fabulous creativity. Some say that Albert Einstein had Asperger's. He certainly could understand alternate realities, I don't think that that is debated. Do we really want to "cure" away this kind of thinking by "curing autism"? At any rate, can we not pause a moment and realize that there is more to autism than the needs of parents whose children require special care?

I think that a child born with a neurology that would place him or her on the "autism spectrum" is always exploring alternate realities.
Some organizations, those supposedly devoted to the needs of people with autism (really parents of children with autism), never even consider what currently alive adults with autism want. Yes, they seem to think that we all went "piff!" and disappeared when we turned 21. But we didn't, we are here, we are smart and we don't like being treated like we don't exist.
