File Folder Games

Preschool Printables
File Folders make great game boards, whether you are doing a matching game for preschoolers or a serious strategy game for older children reviewing facts. They are easy to put together, easy to store, and loads of fun!
You can do more strategic games for older children using a file folder, a path and skills cards as the playing pieces. Just use a file folder, colored stick on dots (make a few another color that require moving backwards, loosing a turn or going forward extra spaces, and skills cards of your choosing (review math facts, history facts, phonics rules, etc. Decorate for a specific theme or leave it relatively blank to be a generic game board.

And another great review is that the kids can do the matching games and test you to see if they did it correctly. We have a color matching game with kites that he'll put down wrong and test to see if I can get the right answer. It's great to play "Stump-the-Mommy"

Tips:

* Use clasp envelopes or regular envelopes glued to the back of the file folder for storage.  You can laminate it, then use an exacto blade to cut the opening. If using a regular envelope, you can also use a velcro patch to keep it shut.

Blastoff!!!
