| NAUR, the word for fire in the language of the Elves, the mythical people from JRR Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" We formed NAUR in May 2003, because we all loved to spin fire and we realised that we can spread this love for the art. We wanted to build a fire scene in Dhaka which would provide young people with an exciting new hobby that can be enjoyed in a clean and drug free environment. In the past one year, we've conducted a number of fire spinning classes, increasing the number of spinners to about 50 people. We have participated in fund raisers, organised and performed in drug awareness events, both locally and internationally. We have also held regular fire nights which provide a platform for all spinners to come and enjoy the fire spinning. Fire spinning has now become a popular form of entertainment and we are asked to perform in various commercial events all over the country. We would like to keep spreading the message of positive living and increase the number of spinners in Bangladesh. |
