"Right across from the square in the historic Victorian spa town of
Strathpeffer, you cannot beat the location. Our room was huge: a separate
dressing area, huge bathroom and sitting area, along with two twin beds.
There were free snacks (fruit, crisps) and complimentary sherry in the room.
Beautifully maintained. A delicious breakfast. For the price it is downright
luxurious. An added bonus: Saturday night in the summer the local pipe band
and Highland dancers perform right outside the front door! It is perfect and
not to be missed".

reasonable rates, spacious luxury rooms and a fine breakfast".

Host Margaret Scott is a delight and stocks
plenty of tourist leaflets to keep you busy at this pretty Georgian
bed-and-breakfast. The Beige Room has white walls and cream-colored
furnishings, with a swag of dried hydrangea above the bed. Idiosyncratic
pictures -- from 18th-century portraits to Japanese-style still lifes --
hang on the walls. The Blue Room has a four-poster bed and Victorian bath.

Craigvar is a
good-value, convenient base right opposite the main square of this genteel,
Victorian spa village. There are several superb walking routes nearby (such
as to Ben Wyvis or Rogie Falls). Margaret Scott is a delightful hostess,
offering advice on walks and happy to to give free room upgrades when
possible. She offers herring in oatmeal or haddock with poached egg
for breakfast and a welcome sherry decanter, fruit, and videos in the rooms.
Although the sitting room is a cosy spot, the bedrooms are the biggest
magnet; in particular the sweet Peach room or the elegant Blue room, with
its canopied four-poster, fireplace, double aspect view to the square and
spa pavilion, and huge bathroom with a claw-foot bath.

B&B is beautifully situated, overlooking the Square
in a charming Victorian spa village. This
distinctive Georgian house offers superb luxury
facilities with en-suite rooms and one four poster
bed. It is a most comfortable and attractively
furnished house with spacious rooms and original
fireplaces. A unique and memorable breakfast menu
with many personal touches. Superb touring base for
the Highlands.
