Arrowhead Neighborhood
Association (ANA)
Kain Park is in the Arrowhead neighborhood Who are we? The Arrowhead Neighborhood Association (ANA) is located in Marlton ( Evesham Township), New Jersey. We are a non-profit neighborhood association (not a homeowners association). As such, our membership is open to (but not required of) all residents of our neighborhood. We do not charge membership dues, and have no authority related to what members do or do not do at their own residence. Our neighborhood comprises approximately 200 dwellings (and a few businesses) on a total of thirteen streets. We currently have approximately 125 members. Why were we formed? The idea of an association came from two people who lived in the neighborhood and were active in the Evesham Township Town Watch, and felt that more benefit could be gained by expanding into activities not covered by Town Watch. The ANA was formed in 1999 to provide residents of our neighborhood with a forum to address and solve problems. The goal of the ANA is to enhance, improve, and beautify the neighborhood as well as promote the general welfare, happiness and civic pride of the residents of the Arrowhead area. How are we organized? Our bylaws were created not to be restrictive, but to give us a framework within which to work. We have officers, directors, trustees, and standing committees. If our needs change these things will be modified. We are registered with the Township of Evesham. The ANA is recognized as an organization within the township, but is not part of the Evesham Township government and is not financially supported by the township. What do we do? We monitor the activities of various township entities, such as the township council, the planning and zoning boards, etc. to keep informed about current and anticipated developments that may affect our neighborhood. We interface with township committees and departments to express concerns and solve problems. We also interface with entities beyond our township, such as the Burlington County Sheriff's dept. Our Safety Committee represents the Arrowhead area on the Evesham Township Town Watch Advisory Committee. We are registered with the National Sheriffs Association Neighborhood Watch Program as a community organization. On all of the above, we keep residents of our area informed. Are we making a difference? Yes. We have developed a good working relationship with all entities that we deal with. We have accomplished a number of things that have improved our environment, and have raised questions and concerns in a number of areas that will eventually benefit our neighborhood. In addition, the association provides a sense of community to it's members. Where do we go from here? An organization like this will continue to be a benefit to the neighborhood as long as there are active members. We intend to evolve and adjust so that we can continue to serve our neighborhood for many years to come. Are there shortcomings to this type of organization? Yes. Since we are not a homeowners association we have no authority to enact or enforce any regulations. Since we are not part of the township government we have no financial support. In all cases we must rely on the interest and goodwill of interested parties. Are we willing to share information with others who might be considering this type of organization? Yes. We can be reached by e-mail at arrowassoc01@yahoo.com. Township Codes Codes for Evesham Township are available on-line at Township Codes .
