Thanks to Daryl for bringing his camera and taking all of these pictures. Here is a shot of Lake Pleasant, north of Phoenix, from Kemmeries Aviation Ultralight Flight Center. Daryl, Pav, Albert, Maurice, Tony, and Dave all met at the flight center for flying early Saturday morning on 6/30/01. Daryl, Pav, Albert and David drove up Friday night and camped out. Tony and Maruice met us Saturday morning. Bill was out of town -- we missed him.

The Central Arizona Project Canal originates at Lake Pleasant. It flows all the way to Tucson -- at least 150 miles. This same canal runs directly past the Post Ranch site just north of Tucson. It also flows directly past the Queen Creek site in Phoenix. That's Dave flying over the canal.

Here is Maurice approaching the "stunt" area designated for high performance aircraft aerobatics. You can see the NE corner of the area designated by the white right-angle in the upper left center of the picture. The vegetation is mostly creosote interspersed with saguaro cactus. After we were on the ground a little later, a yellow biplane used the area for some interesting flying.

Daryl managed to get in this picture, via his shadow. Albert is center in shorts and t-shirt. Tony is to his right. Dave is left-most donning his red Fresh Breeze 122. Pav is right of Dave and I believe that is Maurice right-most in the picture, just to the left of Tony's red Silex glilder.
