| Boston Massachusetts area, USA Newton, MA Comfortable family home in lovely town just 10 minutes outside Boston, sleeps up to 6. Large, beautifully renovated and expanded 1885 home on a quiet, leafy street. Bright, nicely decorated, and comfortable for a family or two couples. The huge master bedroom is on the top floor, with its own bathroom and shower. On the second floor are three bedrooms- two have one twin bed each, and the other has a double-size bed. Another full bath with tub/shower on this floor. The first floor has a front parlor with comfy armchairs, and antique furnishings and carpet. The brand new kitchen has granite countertops and excellent appliances, leading to a lovely dining room. The whole back of the house is the recently added family room with tv/vcr/stereo/Nintendo. There is also a bathroom and laundry room behind the kitchen. Go down the stairs and you will find child heaven- a large, well-stocked playroom. Out back through french doors from the family room is a patio with furniture for outdoor dining; the large, pretty yard has lots of lawn and a flower garden at the back. For your children, there is a safe climbing structure and a huge sandbox. The patio is surrounded by roses, and there is a small vegetable garden you are free to pick from. Our yard is fully fenced. We might be agreeable to exchanging one of our cars, depending on insurance. Our home has central air conditioning, and is in excellent condition. Books, toys, games, sporting equipment, and activities for children are all available. The bedroom with the double bed has a computer with internet access. Newton, is a safe, quiet suburb within a 10-minute drive of Boston. Our area is one of upscale victorian-era homes with a great mix of people. We are a 10 minute walk to Newton Centre, with many good restaurants, shops, and the Green Line to Boston (20 minutes) . We have great playgrounds and and recreational facilities nearby, as well as movie theatres, tennis, etc. Boston is a wonderful city to explore, for both adults and children. The Museum of Fine Arts, Children’ s Museum, Charles river for boating, Aquarium, Science Museum, exciting and beautiful neighborhoods such as Beacon Hill and Back Bay full of historic and cultural gems, and great shopping and restaurants. Very close are Cambridge, Concord, Salem, and other interesting towns. We are around 1 ¼ hour drive from Cape Cod’ s glorious sandy beaches, as well as many closer ones on the South and North Shores. The mountains and wonderful villages of New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont are also lovely for excursions. Non-smokers only, please. We might be agreeable to a car exchange. While our home is extremely child friendly, keep in mind that we have steep stairs between first and second floors (carpeted) . We have a very tolerant and loving cat, an even more tolerant guinea pig, and a tank of fish. All can be boarded out if you prefer. Our neighbors and friends can help with anything you may need, including daytrip advice, finding a sitter, or any emergency. Our cleaning service will stop in once weekly. . We love to introduce people to the area, and can help with trip planning and sightseeing suggestions. If Amy's parents are traveling with us, their beautiful 1 bedroom (plus sofabed in living room) New York City (chic upper East Side building with doorman) apartment may be available for a weekend trip. We are looking for England, Italy, or France. Another possibility would be a beach house in the USA. We can exchange during any two weeks in July or August, 2003. Larry is an engineer, and Amy is a toddler teacher. We have two great boys, 7 and 10. We may be traveling with Amy’ s parents, as well. Our interests are travel (just returned from Tuscany! ) , reading, good food, music, nature, architecture and history. Our sons love sports, animals, any food; and if our trip to Tuscany was any example, climbing to the top of every climbable tower or monument in town. |
