April 13, 2003 - CONCERN GROWS AMONG RANCHERS: Mutilated Animals Found Near Cuchillo Có

Concern spread among some Pampan cattlemen of the Lihuél Calel department, who expressed their fear at the discovery of several repeated animal mutilations in their rural area.

GENERAL ACHA (Agencia) -- Cattlemen from a broad section of the Lihuel Calel department are concerned by the return of cattle mutilations. In an interview with El Diario, a young rancher whose property is located on Provincial Route 13, 60 km west of Cuchillo Có, and who requested anonymity, remarked that two mutilated cows and a calf were found on his property last year, being simlar to the ones which achieved prominence in this and other provinces in 2002. The cattleman noted that there also occurred a case involving the mutilation of a wild boar cub.

Worried by the situation, he stated: "it seems that they've taken against me now, because in 15 days they mutilated six calves, all of them black, plump, weighing between 160 and 220 kg., which were in an open field. The last one was found last Thursday some 500 meters from the street and some 4 kilometers from the house, while I was away in General Acha. The same occurred on Friday with a sheep," he added.

When consulted about the condition in which the animals are found, and the type of mutilation presented, he explained that "some were male and others female, but similar incisions can be found in all of them -- perfectly [even] and cured, as though cauterized. They were missing their tongues, jaws, ears, eyes and hide in a strech from the front (sic) to the start of the chest. The females were missing their udders and the males their testicles." He later noted that "I turned one of these over to remove its ribs, but one of them, which was under the body, was cracked and was "mashed", as though it had experienced a powerful blow."

"I removed two ribs for the dogs, which eat it, but since it was hanging from a hook in the shed, [it emanated] a strong odor of ammonia and sulfur which became unbearable." He explained that his remaining animals grazed far from the mutilated one.

Upon discussing the hypotheses put forth by the local livestock producers, he stated that "some cattlemen do not believe that natural deaths are involved, nor mutilations by carrion animals and much less by the long-muzzled mouse. This is a subject that deserves far deeper study to put an end to it, as it affects us financially. Scientists from a foreign power could be involved, performing the mutilations for analysis. We base this on the fact that some "lights" have been seen over the area during the night."

Finally, he recalled that "a rancher from the area found that cow belonging to another pasture had been deposited on his property. For this reason we request whoever is responsible to look into these events and research them thoroughly." SOURCE: El Diario de la Pampa - Translation (C) 2003. Ranchers, lawmen baffled by crime wave
Great Falls Tribune - Thursday, January 3, 2002

CONRAD -- This is the kind of déja vu Everett King could do without. About 15 years ago, he discovered the grisly remains of one of his cattle that had died mysteriously. In October, it happened again. King said it looked as though a surgeon had sliced into his 7-year-old Charolais, the way its right eye and ear were cut off -- not to mention the way its reproductive organs had been cored.
What King finds most unusual, however, is that two months later the carcass lies right where he found it, untouched. "Predators won't eat it," said King, who ranches outside Valier, south of Lake Frances. "It should have been cleaned up and gone a long time ago."
Ranchers reported four mutilations between June and August. Since then, there have been 11 more, and investigators are still searching for answers. The same bizarre circumstances haunted area ranchers and baffled law enforcement 20 years ago, sparking rumors about UFOs, cults and government conspiracies. The mutilations went away in the '90s but began again this summer. The most recent victim -- a 12-year-old Hereford -- turned up earlier this month on a ranch northwest of Conrad. "They skinned off the belly from her front legs to her back legs all the way around," Pondera County Sheriff's Deputy Dan Campbell said. "The complete bag was removed." The last few mutilations occurred within three miles of each other in the Dry Forks area, about 10 or 15 miles west of Conrad.
In October, members of the New Miami Colony, 18 miles west of Conrad, discovered two mutilated cows at the same time, about 30 yards apart. The scenes were remarkably similar to mutilations ranchers reported here more than a decade ago, Campbell said. Most of the cows had the skin scraped off their faces. Often, the tongue, one eye and all or part of an ear had been removed. Part of the udder usually was cut off, as well as the genitals. And in most cases, the anus had been cored. A majority of the cows were 4 or 5; one was missing its teeth.
In the late '70s, a high volume of alleged mutilations in southwestern states prompted a federally funded investigation. The resulting 300-page report concluded that animal predators were responsible. Although some dismiss the Pondera County deaths as a hoax or chalk them up to natural causes and predators, Campbell and fellow investigator Sheriff's Deputy Dick Dailey say they aren't convinced.
Cuts on the cows are often circular or oval and -- as with Everett King's Charolais -- seem to be made with surgical precision. The animals seem to bloat faster than normal, and their missing hide doesn't reflect the work of predators, Campbell said. "I've never seen an animal eat just the face off a cow when there's lots of other stuff to go after," he said. One mutilated cow looked like it had been burned. Another seemed to have bruises around its neck as though it had been strangled. One had a long cut with a perfectly ridged edge, as though the hide had been sliced with a tool similar to pinking shears. Also strange is that in most cases, no tracks or footprints were detected around the animals' bodies, even in mud or snow.
A misconception is that the cows have been drained of blood. Natural coagulation only makes it look like the creatures' fluids have been drained, Dailey said. Dailey, who lives in Dupuyer, spent several nights this fall camped out in dark fields, trying to catch the culprit in the act. He has reviewed all the facts and checked out dozens of Web sites looking for answers. Still, nothing. "I've read everything I can read on it, and I really don't know what in the heck it is," he said. Ranchers aren't sure what to think, either. In September, Jim VandenBos discovered the body of one of his $850 2-year-old Angus lying dead in his pasture.
The right side of its face was skinned, and the exposed jawbone was so smooth it looked like it had been polished, VandenBos said. Its tongue was cut off along with its right ear, eye and reproductive organs. A tennis-ball-sized patch of skin on its shoulder was hard like plastic. Again, coyotes -- even other cattle -- steered clear. VandenBos has been ranching southwest of Valier for more than 30 years and remembers the last wave of mutilations well.
"It's kind of a spooky thing," he said. "I haven't worried about it too much because it's something I can't control - but I'd like to find an explanation." Toward the end of October, a neighbor found the 750-pound steer that died in Glen and Ruby Bouma's dry creek bed, three miles west of Conrad.
"There was a little trail of grass pushed up like it was shoved up underneath it," Ruby Bouma said. The hide was missing from the calf's stomach and its reproductive organs were gone, but there were no tracks, no bullet holes and no claw marks. The calf, No. 55, was almost a year old and was worth about $600. It was one of the friendliest animals the Boumas owned.
A local vet said it died of dust pneumonia, but Glen and Ruby have their doubts. "That's possible, because it's so dry," Ruby Bouma said. "But I think we would have known if it was sick. We took special notice because it was one of two calves that were like pets to us. It would come up and smell your hand or your pantleg." The whole thing is peculiar, if you ask the Boumas. When a cow dies of natural causes, for instance, predators will usually chew into its flesh.
Glen and Ruby's calf was missing only its hide. And when they checked on Thanksgiving Day, predators still were keeping their distance. Some folks in the area think the U.S. Air Force or aliens are behind the mutilations, but not Ruby.
"I'm sorry, but I personally think it's somebody local ... that's doing it for kicks," she said. One difficulty local investigators have encountered in cracking the case is gathering evidence. After two or three days, collecting evidence becomes a lost cause because the cattle are so badly decomposed. And in the summer, carcasses rot faster and often go undiscovered for weeks.
"We have to fight time," Campbell said. "We're hoping that this time of year, ranchers are gathering and feeding every day so we'll get a better jump on them and come up with some more clues." Pondera sheriff's deputies also are hoping a Nevada laboratory will answer some of their questions. This fall, Campbell and Dailey chopped the head off a mutilated cow, packed it in dry ice and shipped it to the National Institute for Discovery Science in Las Vegas.
The privately funded institute pays scientists and retired police officers to investigate bizarre phenomena including mutilations and UFO sightings. A spokesman from the institute said researchers are nearly finished with their study and will be sending a copy of the report to the Pondera County sheriff's office in a couple of weeks. "If they could come up with something, that would really help us," Dailey said. Until investigators reach a satisfactory conclusion, theories continue to spread through local coffee shops and bars. Some say the mutilations are a government ploy to get Montanans' minds off global issues. Others finger satanic cults or spaceships.
Most say they don't believe in all that eerie X-Files stuff. But even some of the staunchest skeptics are beginning to wonder. "I just can't believe little men are coming from outer space," said Conrad resident Jack Rowekamp, a retired bus driver and custodian. "But I guess you never know."

UFO crash 'blinded my cows'

A Brazilian farmer says an explosion from a mid-air crash between two UFOs has blinded his cattle herd. Five other villagers in Corguinho, south-west Brazil, also say they witnessed the crash. Farmer Getulio Alves says the explosion burned nearby trees but police say they haven't found any evidence. Maria Lucia Vidal de Souza, from the Doorway Project which provides UFO information to tourists, is heading the investigation. She told O Estado de Sao Paulo: "The blast happened in a hard-to-reach place, we still haven't found the wreckage, but soon we'll find it and prove it's all true."Source: Ananova 29th November 2001

ARIZONA CATTLE MUTILATIONS

On July 6, 1998, Terry W. Colvin reports: "Something is killing and mutilating cattle, horses, and other animals in the Southeast Arizona counties of Cochise, Pima, and Santa Cruz. This area is about 2,500 square miles of small towns, ranches, farms, orchards, vineyards, and the Army's Fort Huachuca. Robert Marsett, a cowhand with the Sands Ranch, tells of a recent kill and mutilation. The carcass appeared where only live cattle were seen the day before, although the dead cow smelled as though it had been dead for several days. Marsett says coyotes and vultures did not approach the carcass. Nearby cows failed to nuzzle the carcass, as normally happens. Some blood was drained, organs were missing, and some samples were taken in the genital and rectal area. He states, the cowhands are now "packing iron" as "flakes" are suspected. Thanks to Peter Gersten CAUS and Terry W. Colvin" fortean@primenet.com.

UFOs Also Kill Cows That Aren't Mutilated
by Luis Burgos

One of the greatest enigmas of the UFO phenomenon began in the early 1970's when a number of states in the U.S. produced hundreds of reports on strange cattle deaths by mutilation -- their organs removed and their blood extracted. From that point on, the "cattle mutilation enigma" spread in a less virulent form to some Central American and Caribbean countries such as Puerto Rico, and with isolated episodes manifesting themselves in the Southern Cone, particularly in Brazil and Argentina. With the passing of time, the hypothesis that cattle mutilations were in fact experiments by the U.S. Air Force, employing black, silent helicopters for purposes of bacteriological warfare against beef cattle, sheep and even horses, began to gain strength. But just as the subject began to "retreat statistically" from the archives of ufologists, similar stories began to emerge with the presence of Puerto Rico's "Moca Vampire" and today's mysterious "Chupacabras", which has made startling appearances in the USA, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and perhaps even Brazil. All of these enigmas have a single point in common: the sightings of nocturnal lights in the vicinity of the events. In other words, UFO sightings.

Not All Are Mutilated

The purpose of this article is to enhance the statistics of "effects upon animals", cows in particular, but placing distance between itself and the "historically famous mutilations" which of themselves already form a monumental database and are the subject of independent analyses. I am specifically referring to animal deaths produced by the passing of a UFO. While such events are not numerous, they nonetheless represent a new aspect.

Correa, Province of Sante Fe (Argentina).

In October 1968, thirty-two UFO landing marks appear on a field owned by the Damiani brothers in Correa, Santa Fe province. The marks appeared after a fly-by of lights over the area which constituted Argentina's "first massive landing". Witnesses later found the body of a calf whose bones had been shattered precisely in the area of the landing marks.

Alegrete, Brazil

Toward late October, 1970, on a fine sunny afternoon, Pedro Machado,66, and his son Eurípides, 23, who were looking after the cattle in a farm on Alegrete's First District were stunned to observe a calf moving in a direction parallel to the ground at a height of one meter over the ground. The animal then began moving up into the air "as if absorbed by an invisible force."It vanished out of the witnesses' sight some 3 to 4 minutes later. The remains of the calf were never found. Both indirect protagonists of this event were well thought-of in their community.

Estación Gil, Province of Buenos Aires (Argentina)
In the early morning hours of September 20, 1971, young Octavio D'Annunzio was heading toward his home in Estación Gil, Coronel Dorrego prospect, in the Province of Buenos Aires, when an unidentified flying object flew over the region at high speed, allowing many local residents to see it. The UFO's approach causes significant symptoms upon D'Annunzio. When military personnel investigates the events, they discover the presence of high levels of radiation, to the extent that film appeared clouded and a number of cows died in a standing position, with their tongues chewed. Carrion birds did not approach the area. This case contains details that are very important to UFO research.

Atalaya, Province of Buenos Aires (Argentina)
In late 1985, when I had the opportunity to investigate the spectacular events at Atalaya with my team from the FAO (Argentine Ufological Foundation), which set the world record in UFO landings, leaving 150 landing marks in a single field, we were able to witness the maneuvers of 4 UFOs over 45 minutes while they performed a veritable air show. A few days later, a completely burned and desiccated cow appeared at a site that had already been surveyed by a number of members. The animal did not appear to have been mutilated, but rather having been exposed to a great thermal source. Unfortunately, we had no way of transferring the carcass to a suitable place for study.

Refuco, Chile
At 9:00 p.m. on August 2, 1988, Luis Viveros and his wife Rosa Angulo, along with their 6-year-old son Rodrigo, witnessed "a red light that descended from the sky. The night was stormy although it was not raining, and thunder could be heard in the distance. Suddenly, a powerful detonation caused all the windows in their house to shatter. Frightened, the Viveros opted to head for a neighboring farm. The following morning, when Rosa went to check on the cows, she noticed that the wire fence has been downed, the trees were broken and that her house had become uneven due to disruptions in the terrain. But the most perplexing discovery had to do with two of their cows: one of them was dead, as if frozen, an the other was alive but rigid, also giving the impression of being frozen, for which reason it was necessary to slaughter it. UFOs were seen over the region that evening at La Unión, close to Osorno. Reports from the Argentine Patagonia were also received.

Victoria, Province of Entre Rios (Argentina)
During the media-reported events in Victoria, province of Entre Rios, which started in 1991, some ufologists noticed the presence of field animals which had died in strange ways, including a number of cows. These events were associated with the UFO sightings made in the area.

Realicó, Province of La Pampa (Argentina)
A strange phenomenon took place in Realicó, province of La Pampa, beginning at 10 p.m. on the stormy night of Sunday, August 7, 1994. During the course of almost three hours, dozens of cows and horses ran around as if "frightened" by something. 60 millimeters of rain fell during the night and a powerful thunderclap rent the air while a strange buzzing sound made itself noticed. On the following day, ranchers faced a horrifying scene: a number of cows and horses had torn through barbed wire fences and died due to the injuries received during their mad stampede. The causes of the incident were never ascertained, but a number of local residents insisted on having seen a "flying light" over the fields.

San Manuel, Province of Buenos Aires

Shortly after the incident in the Pampas, in 1994, we have word of a smaller case having similar characteristics when the residents of San Manuel became aware that animals had suddenly become spooked after the passage of a UFO, with serious consequences for some of the bovines.

TEXAS AND MONTANA REPORT CATTLE MUTILATIONS

CALDWELL -- Jim Henderson of the "Houston Chronicle" 7/31 reports that prize bull mutilations leave Texas ranchers guessing at the cause. Similar cattle mutilations are reported in Montana and the West. The prize bulls of Burleson County are dying. The troubling questions are how and, more importantly, why. Some ranchers talk of a cult that drains the blood of the animals for use in satanic rituals. The sheriff believes most of the animals are dying of natural causes but admits he is perplexed by some of the circumstances. An investigator for a cattlemen's association chalks up some of the deaths to thieves stealing body parts, rather than meat. Cattle have been turning up dead under what ranchers consider "mysterious" circumstances at almost predictable intervals -- once or twice a year, around the time of Halloween or Easter -- for nearly a decade. "I don't know what it is," said Johnny Lyon, who lost a valuable Charolais bull last Easter. "It could be a prankster, !
but if it is the other (a cult) it could be pretty dangerous." Rarely is there evidence to back them up. Nevertheless, ranchers in Burleson County believe there is something more than storytelling going on there. When Lyon found his bull at the rear of a 300-acre pasture, its abdomen had been split open and its genitals removed. He said that has been a consistent pattern in previous incidents. There were no signs -- claw or teeth marks -- to suggest that his cow had been killed by a coyote or other predator and "there was not a drop of blood on the body or the ground," the rancher said. The cause of death was not apparent; body organs and, sometimes, tongues were removed while the valuable meat was untouched. In most cases, the genitals were removed. And, Lyon said, it appeared in each case that the blood had been drained from the bodies. The latest deaths have attracted little attention, except among ranchers. "I haven't heard any talk about it," said Caldwell Police!

MUTILATION IN ISRAEL

On the morning of May I, Amos and Miriam Glam of Sde Uziah, a farming community near Ashdod, found a scene of carnage in their sheep pen. Four sheep had been shaved in their cheeks and a precise 2 inch hole was drilled from one cheekbone to the other. Though killed by the operation, the sheep did not bleed. This same cheekbone operation was performed on four sheep belong to the Gueta family of Moshav Porat, near Kadima in January 1995. UFO activity accompanied both cases. In nearby Kadima, a UFO was sighted a few days before the Gueta sheep mutilations and a large landing circle was filmed and examined for the television program Sightings. Two nights before the Glam incident, a UFO hovered above the family home and beamed a projected light on Mrs. Glam for some ten seconds. Neither she nor her husband could see the craft which beamed the light. The next night, while presumably the sheep were being mutilated, the couple heard sounds "like mice scurrying" from their yard.

FLORIDA STRANGE OCCURRENCES

OCALA NATIONAL FOREST -- K. T. Frankovitch reports many strange occurrences in the forest where she lives. Goats have been found dead with rectum removed and blood drained. Twelve rabbits were also found dead by their owner drained of blood with two small puncture wounds on their neck. A baby calf was found in wandering in the forest without her mother many miles from any farm or cow. A horse was found dead near the top of a 15 foot Palmetto tree. There is no way for the horse to have jumped that high and it must have been air dropped to its position. UFOs, generally disc-shaped, have been seen regularly in the area. The local people call them space ships. The area is exceptionally dry and is ravaged by fires. Thanks to K.T.
Frankovitch.

Binweston, Shropshire,UK.

5th March 2001 At 20.30 on Sunday night I received a phone call from Glyn from a farm in Binweston. Glyn was very excited and told me of an interesting sighting and other unusual occurrences involving his two sheep dogs.

Glyn’s account was recorded as follows, “Over the past few nights one of my dogs in particular starts to bark for no apparent reason, to night she did the same again so I decided to go and investigate what was going on. So I went up the field, and there she was just standing in the middle of the field making a bloody nuisance of herself, I couldn’t see anything about, thought fare enough. Walking back down, and this crumbling noise, two jet fighters in the sky going like hell, they were a fare way up you know, in front of them was a bright object, it was sure to be umm oh, you know the lights that are on the air craft, the light that was in front of them was the same size. The aircraft were really belting on they were due south, south easterly direction and I was watching this and I thought bloody hell and there were to other aircraft obviously in a flight path to Manchester like you know.

So I looked at these two, looked back and I could see these two jet fighters, and they were really belting after this thing and they weren’t catching it at all, it stopped went back through the two of them, then I thought that was odd, back through the middle of the two of them. The time was 20.15 to night, then um no more a do I though that was odd, so I carried on watching this thing and it just dropped like a star and these two jet fighters you could see they were still going and it took off again and went through the middle of them again and just disappeared.” I said to Glyn that it was interesting that on the 30th of December 00, when David Cayton and I visited his farm to view the ground impression in the field where his sheep had disappeared, as we left at 17.00 I also saw a bright object fall to the ground. Glyn said that he had also seen this falling light before but does not know what it is. I have now received a timings chart from Roy Dutton for the Bromlow Hill area and the over flight time of 20.15 for the 5th of March 01 is confirmed. A night watch for this area will be scheduled with in the next week. A continuing UFOIRU Investigation.

Mutilations with other animals

Saskatoon Horse mutilation

IN OCT 1989 a Saskatchewan farmer suspected a satanic cult had killed his horse and surgically removed its sex organs. The farmer , said he found the t gelding lying in a field . It had an incision from the navel to the hind legs and its sex organs were gone. He said that he suspected cults. "The wounds were perfectly clean, there was no jagged edges," the farmer said.

Duane Martin Tested the Horse for Radioactivity

San Francisco Chronicle, Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1967

HORSE-SAUCER MYSTERY GETS EVEN WEIRDER Alamosa, Colo. An autopsy on a horse, believed by its owner to have been killed by inhabitants of a flying saucer, has revealed that its abdominal, brain and spinal cavities were empty. The pathologist, a Denver specialist who wished to remain anonymous, said the absence of organs in the abdominal cavity was unexplainable. Witnessing the autopsy Sunday night at the ranch where the carcass was found were four members of the Denver team of the National Members Investigating Committee on Aerial Phenomena. The team included Dr. and Mrs. Ken Steinmetz, Dr. Herb Roth and Captain Dick Cable of the North American Air Defense Command Center in Colorado Springs. When the pathologist sawed into the horse's brain cavity, he found it empty. "There definitely should have been a good bit of fluid in the brain cavity," the pathologist said. "This horse was definitely not killed by lightning," the pathologist said. That was the official conclusion of Alamosa county authorities. The Appalcosa's owners said they believe the horse was killed by occupants of a flying saucer. Several others in the San Luis Valley, where as many as eight sightings of unidentified flying objects have been reported in one evening recently, have said they agree. -- DISPUTE -- The controversy over Snippy, a 3-year-old gelding, began September 7 when the horse did not return to the Harry King ranch. Two days later, King went looking for Snippy and found him dead about a quarter mile from the ranch house. The ranch is 20 miles southeast of Alamosa in desolate mountain country. All the flesh had been stripped from the horse's neck and head and only bones remained. King called the owners of the horse, Mr. and Mrs. Burl Lewis, and together they investigated the area in which the horse had been killed. -- HOLES -- They said they found areas where the chico brush had been squashed to within 10 inches of the ground. What appeared to them to be 15 circular exhaust marks were found 100 yards from the horse. Another area was punched with six identical holes, each two inches wide and four inches deep, they said. The investigating committee Sunday measured markings on the ground and found the largest to be a circle 75 feet in diameter. Several smaller areas where the chico brush had been flattened were 15 feet in diameter. The committee returned to Denver on Sunday night with several samples taken from the horse and an object, presumed to be a tool, Mrs. Lewis said she found September 16. Mrs. Lewis said she found the object on her second visit to the site. It was covered with horse hair and she said when she tried to wipe the hair off, her hand turned red and began to burn. The burning persisted until she washed her hands, she said. The Denver pathologist remained at the King Ranch Sunday night. While there, the group stood on the ranch-house porch and watched two unidentified flying objects pass over the house, King said.

MYSTERY HELICOPTERS ADD TO ANIMAL ABUSE

Albertville-Animal owners who are finding carcasses with tongues, eyes, ears and hearts missing, have a new mystery for authorities, unlighted helicopters swooping out of the night sky. Albertville Chief Detective Tommy Cole is among those who in the past five months reported about a dozen cases of dead, mutilated animals-cows, goats and at least one dog. The animals were found in the pastures with no traces of automobile tracks, footprints or blood, he said. "On Jan. 9, I went to feed my steers and realized I was one short. The sexual organs and rectum was removed and the blood was gone," Mr. Cole said. All of the killings, including that of a calf found Tuesday, were within about four miles of this northeast Alabama city. "They take tongues, eyes, ears, hearts. Sometimes, they take blood," Mr. Cole said. He said there are no suspects. All of the animals have been found within 150 ft of power lines. The Marshall County Sheriff's Dept. received reports Tuesday night that one or more helicopters were flying at night over pastures near Albertville. The department pilot, Jim Pickett, said he and deputy Bob Norwood went up in the county helicopter but never located another one. "We kept getting reports of a helicopter flying at tree-top level with no lights on," he said. During the search for an unlighted helicopter, shots were fired from the ground at the sheriff's helicopter. No one was hurt. Deputy Norwood said a car signaled the department helicopter by flashing lights on and off. The helicopter flew close enough to the car to see that it was parked under power lines. "People were trying to lure us into high tension wires. I don't think it was purposely for us," he said. Doug Segers said he saw a helicopter forcing his 42 cattle into a corner in his pasture. He said he felt the wind and heard the engine. "The copter was behind my barn with a spotlight. Of course, I had a 30-30 rifle over my shoulder. They saw me run to my truck." he said. "The cows were scared to death. One cow is real gentle and we couldn't even get around her." Some farmers are using spotlights and patroling their land, he said. John Strawn said he has seen helicopters land in pastures at night. He said he has 30 head of cattle, an investment of about $12,000. Mr. Strawn has organized farmers and said the group has been able to identify three turbine helicopters, one light blue and white with an orange sun, one dark blue and the other black.

Birmingham Alabama.

31 cows have now been mutilated in the last few months. The Sheriffs' dept. and Marshall county Rancher also report strange, black helicopters in the area at the time of some of the cattle mutilations.

Man Freaked out on Dragging Cow!

On September 13, 1994, at around 4PM, one of the strangest UAD cases ever reported occurred near the small northern New Mexico town of Chacon, at the base of Luhan Canyon, in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and was investigated by Linda Howe. Carpenter Larry Gardea, while hiking up Luhan Canyon to go bear hunting, found a dead, "mutilated" cow. The tongue had been completely removed along with the tissue and hide from the jaw. The rear end had been cored out. This find alone was worth noting, but Gardea's unbelievable experience did not stop there. As he walked closer to examine the downed animal, he noticed a second cow that was down, but not "mutilated." Suddenly, a loud electrical-like sound started up, that Gardea later described as sounding like a huge "arc-welding torch." The rest of the herd began running down the hill away from the sound and Gardea then noticed another downed cow, on the other side of the fence-line, being dragged backwards up the hill toward the apparent location of the sound. He later described to Linda the terrified, struggling animal as making a sound like it was "being tortured," while being dragged. The witness watched in understandable amazement as the animal appeared to slowly float over the ground and over a shallow trench, heading toward the sound source apparently obscured uphill in a grove of trees. The bellowing cow disappeared in the aspen trees after being dragged almost 150 feet. A shocked, scared, Gardea, not at all sure what to do, fired two shots with his 30.06 hunting rifle in the direction of the sound. The sound stopped. Gardea, by now "kinda freaked out," rushed to the sheriffs office to report the strange event he had just witnessed. His account was actually taken seriously by the sheriffs office and a deputy was dispatched. After returning with the deputy and examining the area, they found no tracks to indicate the animal had been dragged up hill. They didn't find any trace of the dragged cow, but did find the "mutilated" cow lying where Gardea had seen it. Gardea is positive that the sound-source was somehow dragging the animal, and although they didn't find tracks, they did discover broken branches. Prior to this happening on September 10th, there had been sightings of a strange aerial object that had been seen by local residents. All around the area of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains , which is the southern edge of San Luis Valley there has been reports of "lights in the skies" and numerous animal mutilations. source:sightings.com

One of the dead dolphins found off the French coast French baffled by mystery of dolphin deaths. FROM BEN MACINTYRE IN PARIS

A MYSTERIOUSkiller is preying on dolphins along the French Mediterranean coast, where corpses of the marine mammals are washing up at the rate of one a day with identical and inexplicable wounds. Twenty-two striped dolphins have been found since February 4 on the beaches of Languedoc-Roussillon between Agde and the Spanish border, but environmentalists say they have no idea what or who is responsible for what they describe as a massacre of the protected species. Most of the dead dolphins were found to have gaping wounds, about six inches in diameter, in the area of the throat or lower jaw. "All the wounds are located in almost exactly the same place. The extreme precision suggests that we can rule out accidental causes," Guy Olivet, president of the Mediterranean Dolphin Study Group, said. Various theories have been offered to explain the deaths, including disease, aggression by a "killer dolphin" and even a conspiracy involving the American military, but three weeks after the first corpse was found scientists concede they are baffled by the mounting toll."All hypotheses are possible. In the absence of any leads, we have to go forward by a process of elimination," a spokesman at the maritime laboratory in Banyuls-sur-Mer, where post-mortem examinations are being carried out on the dolphins, said yesterday. "No hypothesis can be confirmed until the results of those tests are in," Monica Mueller, an expert in dolphin behaviour based at Banyuls and attached to the University of Paris, said. Marine experts have ruled out the possibility of a virus similar to the "Moribilis" infection that killed 65 Mediterranean dolphins in 1995. The theory that the animals could have been accidentally killed by fishing trawlers also appears unlikely, since the carcasses show no signs of having been entangled in nets. The most bizarre explanation, put forward by Leo Sheridan, the British dolphin expert, is that the animals could have been trained by the United States Navy at one of its Mediterranean bases and then killed when they had outlived their usefulness. "These dolphins were used by the American army for military operations," Mr Sheridan, who describes himself as an expert in maritime accidents, told Le Figaro. "They slipped away from their handlers. The death of these deserters came from the radio-controlled explosion of their signal collars so that no one could find out their missions." That suggestion has been rejected by the French authorities. "This species of dolphin is very sensitive and nervous and cannot be kept in captivity. They die of stress if an attempt is made to catch them," Mme Mueller said. Researchers at the study group say the circular wounds found on more than 70 per cent of the dolphins are unlikely to be man-made, since they are "on the underside and not on the top part of its body, which is clearly more accessible to man". The striped dolphin is usually found in open waters and, according to yet another theory, the dolphins may be indirect victims of global warming, which has heated the Mediterranean and encouraged the dolphins into shallower and more perilous coastal areas. Lieutenant Jean-Louis Ferres, the fire department official responsible for patrolling this section of the French coast, said the scale of the deaths was unprecedented and stunning. "On this part of the coast we usually only record about a dozen dolphin carcasses a year."

Cattle Mutilation in Chino Valley, Arizona

Date: 23 Jun 1999 20:33:30 : I am writing in reference to a recently reported cattle mutilation which took place at the Deep Well Ranch in Chino Valley, Arizona between Thursday, June 3 and Saturday, June 5. The local newspaper stated, "they found the animal, which was nursing a calf this Spring, with its nose, the front half of its tongue and its bottom lip cleanly cut away. The person or persons committing the gruesome act also removed the reproductive organ and rectum from the animal's hind quarters." There are no further details at this time, but perhaps it is worth investigating,. Also, there have been numerous flights of Apache helicopters over Chino Valley, especially after this reported episode. One particular flight was a group of approximately seven helicopters, flying at extremely low altitude, so low in fact that the rocks trembled on the ground and the pilots were clearly visible to the naked eye. Any response to my letter would be greatly appreciated. source:Desiree Holloway

Mutilated cow survived

On May 20, 2000, NIDS was alerted to a two year old Charolais cow which had been mutilated near Cuba, New Mexico, three days previously but the animal had survived. The animal was recovering at a nearby veterinary clinic. On May 22, 2000, the NIDS veterinarian plus two NIDS investigators arrived to examine it. The animal's left ear had been removed completely, its right ear was substantially removed and the animal's lips appeared to have been injured or degraded. A search for needle marks was negative. Both veterinarians concurred that there was no evidence whatsoever that the animal had been attacked by predators or scavengers. Rather, they concurred that a sharp instrument had likely been used to remove the ears. Multiple blood samples, a small tissue biopsy and fecal samples were taken and analyzed. 1947 Cattle Mutilation

NEW MEXICAN, Santa Fe, NM, September 18, 1994 In 1947, the same year an unidentified flying object allegedly crashed near Roswell, Willie C da Raca found a mutilated cow on a ranch near La Cienga. According to his son, Felipe Cabeza de Vaca, the cow's sexual organs and udder were removed, its anus cored out - typical of what would later become known as the "classic" case of cattle mutilation. "Everything was done real nice. He couldn't find any tracks," Cabeza de Vaca, who was six years old at the time, said of his father, "At that time, they thought it was coyotes. Coyotes kill cows, but I have never heard of a coyote sexually abusing the corpse. source: cause - John F. Schuessler (schuessler@mho.net)
