archisgore@yahoo.com Who am I?

Join me on orkut or Facebook to stay connected and interact! I personally prefer facebook. Here are some details on my name which people constantly keep asking me about.

Most of my latest writings and news updates take place on my New Blog, which has recently moved from my Yahoo 360 blog due to my dissatisfaction with the speed and usability of 360. This site is updated only about once every three months (at best). I'm kind of busy these days and don't have as much time to write articles and reviews as I used to during college days (being a certified incompetent person gives you loads of free time.)

I'm a resident of Hyderabad, India. I work at Microsoft's India Development Center (IDC) for the Windows Live Core team (yes, the very team about which you've been hearing those rumours). My work is quite cool and awesome. We're on the verge of a very cool major release, so keep a lookout. I originally hail from Pune, having spent almost my entire life-before-Microsoft there.

A brief review of my life thus far: Studied at a rural school. Educated at an unknown college. Branded as a complete failure and incompetent person by the University of Pune. Certified as a lazy underperformer by many Ph.D.s from IITs with fancy-sounding research topics. Never scored about 70% in my life (for the uninitiated, scoring less than 95% is considered retarted in Pune). Quite the carrer I've got under my belt. :-)

News and updates:

I've added a new section for code samples, where I'm posting some of my old college-time code snippets which have saved my neck. There are two reasons - one is obviously to provide some reference code to others, but the main reason is to preserve the code which is getting increasingly deleted from my hard disk, due to non-usage.

My Ph.D. plans have now been permanently scrapped due to the comfort and stability that I have come to enjoy at Microsoft - after a lifetime to fear, conspiracies, and frustration, I want to enjoy a few years of a stable comfortable, and happy life.

My general social life:

Microsoft is definately one of the best places to work in India. And almost everyone I know is just really awesome - people are polite, open-minded, accomodating, and most of all, just as crazy and passionate as you are. I have lived an outcast all my life - a staunch liberalist who opposed imperialist educational methods such as those imposed heavily by the Indian system. Heck, at a point, I was told that I was a disgrace to India (which I don't deny really).

Navigate my site:

1.My Blog: Where my most frequent action takes place. It's a lot more active than this boring page. However, a blog can't serve the navigational needs of all users, which is why this homepage exists.

2.My Articles: I write a bunch of stuff. Read at your own risk since some are very wierd. This is some of the older stuff, before I started my blog. I am however backporting some of my famed blog entries into articles here. This will happen by this year-end (2007).

3. Code Samples: A new section where I'm archive some of the old code snippets from my college days. To show off some of the best code I've written, and also to ensure it doesn't get lost if my hard disk ever got corrupted.

4.My Projects: A bunch of stuff I used to do in college. Most of them are severely outdated.

5.My Reviews: I frequently review movies, software, books, and everything I come acress in life. So please feel free to see my perspective of things. I haven't written any reviews here in over an year. Most of my coolest reviews will be found on my blog.

6.Cool Websites that I visit regularly. Ranging from funny to dead serious, take a look at what interests me the most. This list keeps updating regularly, and the amount of fun stuff on the web is virtually limitless. This is just a small selection of stuff that suits my tastes.

Any content, views, opinions, or endorsements on this website are NOT those of either my current, previous or future employers, academic institutions or workplaces. They are entirely my own and only my own. 1
