How I first heard about Baka!-con

Mike, Joe, Colleen, and I were at Denny's on a Friday night, and that was when Joe mentioned the convention. I had never been to one before, so I decided to go with Mike and Joe. Later it turned out Mike couldn't go, cause of work, so Joe and I went the next day, which was a Saturday (we obviously already missed the Friday of the con). Saturday was actually the most fun, plus I met some cool people there.

I watched the masquerade (cosplay), it was pretty interesting except that the announcer kept on having trouble pronouncing names... Especially the Fushigi Yuugi names! After the masquerade was over, I took a pic of the Fushigi Yuugi group:

After the masquerade I just hung with my new friends: Taters, Sam, Toki, Mandy, and Zack. We were in Taters' hotel room, just talking and stuff. I found out that Toki was a huge RG Veda fan like I am! Later there was a dance, and we went to that for a little while, and I got a picture of Tammy in a Sailor Pluto costume:

At the dance, I got Zack to make a song request: "One-Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII! He just bought that soundtrack that day, so he had the CD with him.

We just chilled in Taters' room afterwards, and that's where I got to show off the RG Veda artbook (Hiten Muma) I bought to Toki, heh heh. She let me listen to one of her RG Veda CDs, which was really good.

Returning on Sunday?!

I had originally planned on only going for Saturday. But since I had a lot of fun, and Joe and I both wanted to come back (with more money, thank gods) to buy what we didn't get to buy on Saturday and to see our friends again.

I met up with Toki, Mandy, and Zack again, and also got to meet some of the people Joe was hanging around with on Saturday... Nicole, Kim, Jack, and Tanya. Nicole had no voice, so we never actually got to hear her real voice till awhile after the con!

I ended up buying more stuff at the dealers' room... 3 CDs! It may be nothing to people who go to cons regularly, but for me it was a lot of money, since each one was around $30 (all real Japanese, not SonMay or any of that copied stuff). I bought the FFVII Reunion Tracks, the first Rurouni Kenshin OST, and the RG Veda OST that Toki got me obsessed with on Saturday.

That was about it! I made sure I got everyone's contact info, and Joe and I drove home listening to the orchestrated version of "One-Winged Angel" repeatedly, heh heh...

It wasn't much of a con (well actually I shouldn't say that because I'd never been to a con before this one), but I still had fun and met lots of cool people!
