In June of 2001,
my good friend, Brian LeBlanc,
and I ventured into the NC mountains on a road trip. The highlight
of the day's worth of driving was when we visited Mt. Mitchell. The
highest point of the Appalachian Mountains. The only vehicle accessible
way to get there is via the Blue Ridge Parkway, a great scenic drive on
its own. All the photos on this page were taken by Brian.

For early June,
it was a surprisingly clear day. It was about 80 degrees in Western
North Carolina for a high temperature; however, at over 6,000 feet in addition
to the wind, if felt more like 55. To see some of the great views
