Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons has decided to go on hunger strike from 17^th April to 24^th April, 2003, near the bund, Amira Kadal Bridge, Srinagar;

 

                                  Against: -

1). the unabated enforced disappearances in the state of J&K

2). the impunity granted to the Law Enforcing Agencies.

                                     For: -

1). stopping the enforced disappearances in the State

2). the appointment of the commission under the Commission of Inquiry Act.

3). providing justice to the thousands of relatives of the disappeared persons.

 

 

This hunger strike will be observed in many other countries in solidarity with the victims of the families of the disappeared persons.

 

We shall never allow the past to be forgotten and we shall never allow it to happen again to future generations. The justice we seek lies not in forgetting the past but in remembering those who should never be forgotten.
