Astronomy is the science that helps Man understand the Universe, and its myriad phenomena.
Astronomy should not be confused with Astrology. Astrology is not a science! It has always been a pseudo-science!
It is indeed true that in the beginning of civilization when humans were attempting to understand the movements of the heavenly bodies all they had was Astrology.
But with the advent of the telescope and the understanding of the Solar system according to Copernicus, the old Astrology gave way to the new science of Astronomy.
I love to read the American "Astronomy" magazine, the British "Astronomy now" magazine, "Sky And Telescope", "Quantum", "SkyNews", and "scientific American" magazines.
Occasionally, I see articles that are written explaining things, at an elementary level. Things that I have always wondered about. So I'll put those articles here, with some modifications, and without any intent of infringing upon the copyrights of the authors. I like to do this for the benefit of the free education of all those interested in the subject of Astronomy.
