Most cheap web hosting providers (if not all) are shared web hosting providers. “Shared” means that there are many websites (the clients’ accounts) hosted on the same server (or on the same C-class IP server). This is no any problem as long as your web site is nothing large and complex – I mean if your website doesn’t get thousands of visits daily and you host some large video files or what on it, then you are OK with a shared web host.

On the other hand, if you are establishing a rally big, big portal and you are sure that you will have millions of visitors, the best thing to do is to find a good dedicated server. You will pay a little more for hosting than you would with any shared cheap web hosting company, but it will be worth it. Your website should be up most of the time and you won’t face any problems and won’t need to transfer your website to a new web host, which is a pain many times. Especially when your site is developed already and has some nice traffic.
