Bootstraps: an installation by Ed Pelissier. This multi-channel video
installation is an exploration of some of the manifestations of the artist's
dealings with mental illness, his own. A cacophony of images and sounds are
matched by their presentation; a web of cables, extension cords, string,
pipes, VCRs, and dismembered televisions. Bootstraps will be installed at
The Wedge in the Women's Building near LA's Chinatown and will available
for viewing on Oct. 11th from 12-3pm, during the opening on Oct. 18th from
6-9pm, and on Oct. 25th by appointment.
Now, and Now Again is an interdisciplinary exhibition of work curated by Ed
Pelissier. The works in this show all exhibit ideas of immediacy, emotion,
and/or presence. The artists and work included are Carol Es (painting), Curt
LeMieux (painting), Kristina Faragher (painting), Lauren Hartman (film),
Michele Jaquis (photography), Monique Mizrahi (photography and written
word), Kyle Riedel (digital photography), Evelyn Serrano (photography), Kat
Skraba (performance), Keith Southern (performance), Pam Strugar (spoken
word) and Charlie Terrell (painting). This exhibit will only be available for
viewing from 6-9pm on Oct. 18th at The Wedge in the Women's Building near
LA's Chinatown.
The Wedge is an exhibition studio committed to presenting installation based
work in all mediums including visual art, new media, sound, and performance.
The Wedge is a curated facility that provides artists a space for several
weeks to develop a project for presentation - either as a work in progress or
as a completed piece. All projects are presented publicly, be it an
opening, performance, screening, or salon discussion. Artists are encouraged
to allow curators, producers, and the public to view the project in progress
and when completed by appointment. For information contact Jeff Cain at
