| Wait On My Voice |
| "Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit"(1). God sees all things at once in time and when He encourages us to "wait on My voice", He is saying I have already seen your destiny and outcome ... and I will guide you if you will honor, trust and believe in Me and My sovereignty ... "as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him"(2). God sees, knows, foreknew and will know all things before they occur ... as He sits upon the circle of the earth(3) as well as when He stands at your side. In the coming days it will not be a time to look to our own strength, as many do today ... for our strength will ebb, change, fail, and become increasingly subject to a cast of vagaries lurking in the shadows of the 'powers and forces the world' ... "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms"(4). Change is the byword for the 21st Century and the more we change the more Christ remains the same ... "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever"(5) and "For I am the Lord, I change not;"(6). Our sense of calm should come from the knowledge that, 'He finished the end before He began the beginning'. |
| As the complexity of living in these days increases, man seems to be turning more and more to his own problem solving strategies, e.g., state sponsored lotteries, legislated relaxation of moral absolutes, right to die court rulings, abortion on demand statutes, same-sex 'rights' ordinances and political or judicial solutions to replace declining allegiance to Judeo-Christian commandments (for righteous living). Not only must we totally depend and rely on God's omniscience, but we must also fully trust in the death (propitiation) of His Son for forgiveness of our sin, eternal life and deliverance from strongholds of unrighteousness that permeate the natural world in which we live. Christ is our only 'hope' and 'shield' against the powers that would deceive us into reliance on our own self-sufficiency and sense of independent truth. Jesus Christ is the only 'door' and gateway to the Father, His throne room, and the Father's grace and mercy and His offering of eternal life ... anyone preaching 'another' doorway to the Father is preaching 'another gospel' and the consequences for such are spelled out in Gal. 1:8. |
| Our fellowship with the Lord and knowledge of His omniscient sovereignty (all knowing supreme authority) are two of the greatest gifts we can share with someone else, particularly unbelievers. Spend not all of your time, fellowship and ministering with believers only. "If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? ... And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?"(7). The secular assurances and certainties man has trusted in are beginning to be shaken and those that are followers and disciples of Christ have an awesome responsibility to share His truth and sovereignty in this day! If we will wait on His voice, He surely will not disappoint nor leave one without the desires of the heart; but first "Delight yourself also in the Lord"(8) for it is a precondition for Him to be able to grant our desires. Hearing, waiting on and knowing His voice will be three of the primary elements in discerning genuine last-day proclamations by the Holy Spirit from counterfeit deceptions emanating from the enemy's camp ... and these deceptions are already apparent in many a quarter of the earthly realm. His sheep know His voice ... make certain you also know His voice for the masquerading spirits of the end-time are being released as we speak and their primary mission is to deceive the believer, by whatever means available. Don't let one of those means be your unfamiliarity with His Voice ! |
