fat marvies
stamp image in clear embossing ink on cardstock (I used kraft).  emboss with clear ep. color with fat marvy markers (marvy brush markers).  similar colors, coordinating colors, clashing colors, scribbles, dots, stripes.. whatever you want!  cover the whole image, then take a paper towel and wipe the ink off the ep so the image pops back out.

voila!  it's done.  trim it up and turn it into.. whatever you want!
stamps from enchanted ink
I scribbled stripes on this one, and thought it turned out pretty interesting.. I'd never tried that before! layered it on a bit of dark blue/purple and used that cool punch that just notches the corners.  for the card itself, I stamped the butterfly all over in clear and embossed with clear, and set out to do it in stripes too.. diagonal stripes.  that didn't look too good, so I gave it up before I got too far.. and switched to scribbling instead.  I ::think:: that was an improvement?  I decided this one was busy enough on it's own, so.. left it at that.
I used images from the "windows into fairyland" sheet.. one fairy, one butterfly, for both cards.  this first one, the image is layered on 2 types of torn vellum, then on a scrap from an unsuccessful attempt at that blueprint technique (it was the right color..). I snipped off the very points of the corners, then edged it with a gold marvy metallic marker.  then I put it on a bit of dark green cardstock and punched the corners, but it was boring, so I masked off the other stuff and stamped the butterfly around, with a versamark pad. that worked ok, so I did the same thing on the card itself, and then did a few in memories soft gold.. those don't show up very well in the scan but add a nice little extra in person.  it still needed ::something:: so I punched the dragonflies out of green marble glossy cardstock and stuck them on.  I'm not sure that's what it needed, but it helped!
if you look at the first 3 "other examples", you'll maybe notice they're not so.. vibrant.. as these, or the other two "other examples".  for those, once the images were done, they were too loud, so I gently smooshed a memories pad (brown.. chestnut, maybe, except for the green one, that was hunter) all over, and then sprayed my paper towel with spritz (that's it's name, and it's magical stuff, at least as far as memories ink goes!) cleaner, and cleaned them back up some.  I tried using vivid once, thinking less permanent would work better, but it didn't work at all, pretty much ate the whole thing.  not sure why memories works, but.. it does!
