Buying a White's Tree Frog

To make sure you pick a healthy frog try to pick one that is active.  Look to see if he/she trys to get away when you try to get him, & ask to hold it before you purchase and check for cuts try to pick one thats plump but if its not that doesnt mean thats its not healthy alot of Whites tree frogs aren't fat when their young mine wasnt.  Make sure its not to fat were you cant even see his eyes.

Holding a Whites Tree Frog

Before holding a Whites Tree frog make sure you wash your hands with water only not with soap or anything like that.  You do this because the salt from our human sweat glands  is harmful to their skin and since Whites absorb through their skin.  After holding your Whites Tree Frog wash hands with soap.

Feeding Whites

For babies
feed 2-3 small crickets and dust the crickets with calcium 3 times a week.

For young adults
Feed 3 small crickets every 2 days and dust the crickets twice a week.

Adults
you should feed 3 large crickets every 2 days and dust the crickets once a week.

and if your frog gets so fat that the ridge over his ear overlaps so much that you cant see his ear or you cant see his eyes feed him a little less.

Sexing a Whites Tree Frog

Sexing a Whites Tree Frog can be very hard to do there are no definate ways to tell but here are a few.

1. If your frog croaks alot then it is a male. (but some females croak too)

2. Males develop nuptual pads on their thumbs when they are 1.

3. A male thats 1 year of age will croak if you slightly (not hard enough to hurt him/her) push his/hers chest with your thumb.

4. Males vocal sack (the neck) is looser and or darker.
