a minute can be a long time
Wednesday noontimes during the summer at the University of Pennsylvania mean only one thing: It's time for a 60-second lecture! This popular series pits faculty against the clock to see if they can communicate their message to a supportive audience in one silly little minute. Fronted by a half hour of live music and followed by a free lunch, this is one of the most curious and quirky ways to spend a little time in the Philly midday sun.
From the meaning of time to the meaning of American democracy to the meaning of "The Planet of the Apes," this summer's series was a prompt success. My favorite moment, though, was a lovely singer who strummed her acoustic guitar and sang a wonderful bluesy rendition of the song, "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?"
