, Bangalore, India, as a statistician in Information and Decision Technologies Group.
Involved in various data modeling and data mining projects. Recent engagements include predictive modeling for GE Speciality Materials business. Also a part of the team working on image processing and expert systems for GE Oil and Gas business.
Prior Work Experience: (May '01 - February '03 )
Worked in Analytics Center of Excellence (ACoE) of GE Capital in Bangalore, India as an assistant manager.
Involved in the analytics of the Real Estate business of GE Capital.
Major Projects in GE Capital:

Developed simulation models to estimate risk of default of real estate loans. The model simulates occupancy levels in properties under various economic conditions and study its effect on default occurrences on commercial mortgages. Model is used as an important tool for risk assessment at the loan approval stage and for loan pricing.

Revenue and demand forecasting of self-storage type properties in US.
The forecasts were used to set the monthly revenue targets for the managers and the agents.

GE Capital Real Estate business routinely uses market forecasts provided by external vendors.We have studied the accuracy of these forecats and generated recommendation for adjustments of business decisions based on forecasting accuracy.

Worked in Tata Infotech Limited (TIL) as Senior Technical Specialist - Data Mining and lead the Data Mining grroup from January '00 to May '01.
The responsibilities of the position included - Executing the Data Mining Projects, keeping abreast with the latest research in the areas of Data Mining, gathering thorough understanding of the underlying technologies in Data Mining, training the other group members in these areas, providing Statistics consultancy to other groups in Tata Infotech Ltd.
