Rick Arrington lives in Unicoi County which is located in the Eastern corner of the Smoky Mountians inTennessee. With all of the beautiful landscapes that are a part of this country it is not very hard to see where his inspiration comes from. Rick has never had any formal art lessons since he began painting in 1980, but as you will see he has an extraordinary talent. His art career began painting with an oil base paint so that he could get the feel of different textures and to improve the detail in his work. He painted with oils for about five years before he switched to his new medium- acrylic- and has been painting with acrylic paint ever since. His twenty-three years of experence in painting has now lead him to an average of two to sometimes three paintings a week. His paintings include landscapes, rustic houses, still art, and custom paintings. He is also a member of the Watauga Art League where his work has been seen on display at the Tipton Hayes farm in Johnson City, Tn, Johnson City Public Library, Utopia in Johnson City, Sycamore Shoals Park, and The Coffee Company in Elizabethton, Tn . Rick has also been selected for the league's Roving Artist Program.
