Pleased you could drop in! This is my basic website by way of introduction to that part of myself involved in writing, putting musical themes together and somehow getting the piece on film or video. I have been making short films since 2001. You can find me at Lara Film Studios, the great nerve centre and production facility where I hang out at Lara, 65 Km South West of melbourne, Australia. Lara is an amazing location, in the shadow of a range of hills called the You Yangs, rising out of the Western Plains, which start on the West of melbourne and go on for ever! There is interesting wild life, such as kangaroos, wallabies of various types. There is a wildlife sanctuary called Serendip. There is the railway through to Darwin, Adelaide and Perth as well as points along the South Coast.

I have recently completed courses in writing for screen at Swinburne under the late Brian Robinson, and The Writers centre, Fitzroy, Melbourne. I have written and produced three pieces so far, the first, TENNIS WITH JARROD AND LOUISE 2001, is still being checked. Then a practice piece, ZIG ZAG, which has been edited up because of the spirited performance by AUDREY LAMONT, who plays the part of a rather murderous woman. Then also in 2003 SCENE SIX, with the talented ERICA MIDGLEY, which is a compressed version of a short story called PROJECT X, about a three way encounter that came apart in a high wind! I enjoy the artistic expression that small film production affords. I hope to do pieces in the pipeline called BANK, about a romance around a bank loan, and BUSHWALKING in which a visitor to Australia ends up in a sticky situation. I welcome any feedback or notes from others in these fields. I am specially grateful to Helen Mihajlovic who makes short films, and who introduced me to Bill Mousoulis, a respected film maker, who has edited ZIG ZAG and SCENE SIX from very primitive material to something that is worth a look! I contributed a costume design to the melbourne Fringe Fashionshow in 2002. I have submitted a play called THREE'S COMAPANY to the Melbourne Playbox and Sydney Belvoir Street Theatres, which are medium commercial theatres. --- Hav got acknowledgments but no further comment. [No news could be good news!]The play is about the legacy of terrorism. More on that later.

I can take calls on Australia 0403 82 9067. My email is: aclandstreet@yahoo.com Favourite films include ACCIDENT, Joseph Losey, BLOW UP and anything by Antonioni, GROUNDHOG DAY, LEAVING LAS VEGAS, BRAZIL, MULHOLLAND DRIVE, and French new Wave. I enjoyed walking around Cannes and towns on the French South Coast in September 2003, places like Antibes, where Picasso hung around at times in his long life. As I write, I am contributing to a joint screening at the ACMI cinemas, Federation Square, melbourne on 3 November 2003. Hoping to mix and meet, and hoping that my pieces may be considered at least entertaining, ... because out of the entertainment there are doors opening to wider artistic and philosphical importance.
