REVOKES APPROVAL OF "CONCORDIA :
THE LUTHERAN CONFESSIONS"
In a stunning move, the LCMS has now declared that the Lutheran Confessions are not in accord with Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. Having allowed the ELCA to publish the last two translations, (Tappert and Kolb-Wengert) the first LCMS attempt in over a century to actually publish what we believe had broken all records for sales. The first edition sold out in a matters of months. Surprise! Surprise! People actually do care what we believe and want to know more.
While critics have dubbed this the "McCain translation", it is quickly becoming known among the masses as the "Liberals Soiled Themselves Version" or LSTV
Recognizing that knowing more about what we believe can only lead to bad things (like people standing up for what we believe in) the committee for doctrinal review quickly gave it the big "thumbs down".
So, let's see if we've got this right :
The Lutheran Confessions have their doctrinal certification revoked.
The LCMS webpage STILL claims that Sacrament of Holy Baptism is "only an outward sign" of faith.
While that's enough irony to fill a 747, I suppose if you really believe that about Holy Baptism, then you wouldn't want anyone reading the Lutheran Confessions.
The updates section contains a number of commentaries on this stunning, but not really surprising, doctrinal coup attempt on the part of the synodical leadership.

At the convention in the summer of 2004, the LCMS approved the Ablaze!(c) initiative. The goal is to "ignite 100 million hearts with the Gospel." The LCMS, tired of "getting the message straight", has decided simply to get the message out, without concern for such petty things as "doctrine", "faithfulness", or "God's Word". The goal is to count and report every opportunity our members have to tell someone about the "Gospel", and then have them respond in some way (Receiving, rejecting, punching, etc.).

Lest you think such a program is doomed to failure, be assured that "Ablaze! is not a program or campaign. It began as a mission vision with the hope of starting a mission movement." As you can see, it is a vision and movement which is doomed to failure. There is also a section on how to donate funds. (Look under, "Is Ablaze! a giving campaign? The short answer is "no" for a link to donate money.)
