This is a site of a dreamer---a comix dreamer.

Hi! I am Mannie Abeleda, a comix penciller/inker here in the Philippines. This site features some of my published and unpublished comics work.

My first published work was a three-issue non-superhero comic book called "Piece of Weapon" which was written by my brother Arnel. This initial foray into the world of sequential art ushered in favorable words of encouragement from the venerable Mr. Will Eisner ("as a first effort, it holds a lot of promise") and from acclaimed writer Andrew Vachss ("such work certainly deserves wider exposure"). And so, like the seminal character in one of Mr. Eisner's graphic novels, I had inadvertently and unrepentingly become a 'Dreamer'- of the comic-book creator sort.

I learned the rudiments of the trade under Mr. Whilce Portacio and Mr. Gilbert Monsanto in 1997. Since then, I have also worked as a mechanical draftsman, and as a lay-out artist for local affiliates of US animation studios.

My work can be presently seen in the current issues of the horror comic anthology "Trailer Park of Terror" (issues 1-4) from Imperium Comics.
