Yr ydym hefyd yn teithio i Gaerdydd i wylio tîm pêl‑droed Cymru yn rheolaidd. What Is The U.W.A. Greens?

We are essentially a group of students (and some non-students), who enjoy watching football.  We all live in Aberystwyth, and offer our support to the local side, at home or away.  We also travel to Cardiff to watch Wales F.C. on a regular basis.  Individual members even organize trips, to watch other football clubs, including Manchester City, Shrewsbury, Bristol Rovers, Colwyn Bay and Swansea City.

Aberystwyth Town are a Welsh football team playing in the Welsh pyramid system.  They were founded in 1884.  Their ground is at Park Avenue in Wales in the county borough of Ceredigion.  Their nickname is SEASIDERS and BLACK AND GREENS.

Hello, I'm John Acton.  I come from Manchester originally.  I live in Wales, Aberystwyth.  I am learning Welsh.

One moved to Aberystwyth in September 2001 from Manchester, to start at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.  One is studying for a degree in Behavioural Biology. In my first year, one lived in Neuadd Cwrt Mawr and one shared a house in town with Mike, Kez, Mel, Yaz, and Tom for my second year.  This year one is living in Neuadd Tŷ Caron on Marine Terrace, with a sea view every day. 

This really is the greatest place ever to live, especially when you are close to the sea, and many exciting attractions (such as the Commodore Cinema; Borth Animalarium; and Ynyslas beach).  The University is only 10 minutes away up the hill, and town is on ones doorstep!  The views and the scenery (such as the National Library of Wales) are fantastic in the surrounding area!   One first fell in love with the seaside in Morecambe Bay, where one used to visit as a child, with my Nana, Grandad, brother Ace and Dad.  My ambition is to live by the seaside.

  • One is also a committee member of the Aberystwyth Town FC.  One supports and watches them regularly, and helps to maintain/improve the club.

  • Voluntary work at Manchester's Millstream Animal shelter, walking dogs twice a day.
