THE A & A PAIN INSTITUTE
APPROACH TO PAIN TREATMENT

While many Pain Management Programs focus on teaching people to "live with" their pain, the A & A Pain Institute strives to accurately diagnose, then treat the cause of pain as well.

Treatment begins with a comprehensive physical examination focusing on neurological, musculoskeletal, postural and behavioral factors. Once the diagnosis is made, an individualized treatment plan is designed and planned with the patient. Multiple conservative treatment options may be considered for the initial plan. Various analgesics and 'adjunctive' analgesics, may be started. Many drugs may reduce pain, despite general classifications as anticonvulsants, antidepressants, NSAIDS, or muscle relaxants. Physical Therapy is prescribed for the patients' specific injury and movement imbalances.

A variety of interventions may be used in the office, if appropriate for the patient's problem. The A & A Pain Institute offers multiple treatments including: Trigger Point Injections, Joint and Epidural Steroid Injections, Nerve and Selective Root Injections, Facet Blocks, Rhizotomies, Implantation of various Nerve Stimulators, and Medication Infusion Pumps.

The A & A Pain Institute is generally conservative, since multidisciplinary treatment frequently effectively treats most pain syndromes. Experience gained through clinical research and nationally recognized lectures enhances the care and treatment delivered at the A & A Pain Institute.
