Hi, Merana!
I just found your Site while browsing the net.

My name is Hansi and I am an Austrian Scoutleader and Groupleader of a Vienna Scoutgroup.

I found your picture of a German scout and thought to tell you, that the Germans do have three Scout/Guide associations who wear different uniforms each (I've added this info to my German page, thanks. Merana)

In Austria, we have one Organisation and we have a very nice uniform.
The red shirt is official since 1995. I post you a picture with this mail.
It shows two scouts from my groupr patrol "wolf" with their leader Barbara on the right.
In the background, you can see some cubscouts in their blue uniform.

Scouting is indeed coed in Austria, since we had the fusion in Oktober 1976 (quite while now). But there is a wide range of possibilities. We have mixed groups as well als single sex groups with or without cooperation to a boy or girl group. My group is a boys group only, but we "nearly" form a mixed group with the girlscout group in the same house. Recently we decided, to use all the same rooms for mixed scoutmeetings. But thats another story.

Cub scout - Wölfling 7-10 yrs.
Young Girl Scouts - Guide 10-13 yrs.
Young Boy Scout - Späher 10-13 yrs.
Venture (female) - Caravelle 13-16 yrs.
Venture (male) - Explorer 13-16 yrs.
Ranger Scout - Ranger
Rover scout - Rover
Scoutleader - Pfadfinderführer
Girl Scout - Pfadfinderin
Boy Scout - Pfadfinder
Be Prepared! - Allzeit bereit!
Scout Hello/Goodbye (also "YIS")- "Gut Pfad!"
That should bring you round some camps, for a while...

You asked about some links, I could provide for information: Well, my scout group (together with the girls group) has a Homepage, but only in German by this state of progress.

Our page
Our National Scouting Page.
Another interesting link would be the homepage of this year's International camp of Vienna scouts and guides "Vienna 2000" There are some uniform pictures and some infos about scouting in Vienna and the camp.

Yours in scouting
Hansi
